New Crucial 1.5V DDR3 Kits

Well this was unexpected on Tactical LP 2*4GB 1600CL8 1.35V. New chip i see D9QMT??? not D9QMS, everywhere. There are not mixed chips like in Tactical Tracer.
Also bad news, a module seems to be semi DOA sometimes MB posts with 8GB sometimes with 4GB here, in CPU-Z appears 8GB single channel. Also Cpu-z read SPD for second module too.
Windows reads 8GB installed, 4GB usabled.
The module alone doesn't boot.

Good news 2300 CL 9-9-9-27 1.70v 32M.Maybe even less.
It boot up to 2400 but 2400 seems unstable beyond the voltage.
2350-2370 seems to be a target.
2133 CL 8-8-8-24 posible 32M stable, 2200 will test. I have the modules only by one hour.

Pretty solid sticks for AMD, I normally reccomend them for 775 too...when people need higher density sticks.

D9QMT are most likely just a version of D9QMS with different JEDEC bin and should overclock the same.

Youre wrong. For me D9QMS -> D9QMT next chip.
It's behave much better.
First the dead module which by the way it isn't the one which i removed the heatspread(it's the other nothing i did too but it's almost dead) bugged the sytems stabilty it seemed.
So with only one module in slots let's go:

And now prepare yourself this memory it's crazy.
First of all it boot's up CL 9-9-9-27 up too 2500.
Second i think 2440-2450 32M 9-9-9-9-27 it's posible, and 2500C9 1M.
The memory seems to no like at all above 1.75v, it becames very unstable( small pcb).

Micron's site says D9QMT = MT41K512M4DA-15E:K, are your sticks single-sided or double-sided? :confused:

ASUS AMD boards have lots of issues with dropping a mem stick at post. Every board I had would do it at some point (M5A97X EVO, M5A99FX Pro R2, CHV, Sabertooth 990FX).

On proper PCB such as on Ballistix, Micron D9PFJ can scale well up to 2.1V and do 900MHz/6-7-7, 1066MHz/7-8-8 (on 4Gb modules) and 1200MHz/8-8-8 (on 2Gb modules).
In my case, the issue was that 4Gb sticks couldn't do over 1100MHz no matter what, 2Gb modules also had issues above 1200.

The newer stuff seems a lot better as there are people who did 1066MHz/8-8-8 and 1200MHz/9-9-9 at 1.65V with 4Gb sticks, but I'm not sure if those use the same Micron D9PFJ's.

My originaly D9PFJs when they came out did 2400Mhz benchable. Im now on my 8th kit of these (just bought two more), didnt test one of the others, but the 5 other sets Ive had all did 2400Mhz with 1.7V or so.
I just got the two new sets today.

Just remember to loosen tRC with these, around 47.

Double sided it's a 4GB module and they are 2 empty spaces for 2 chips on both sides, and the pcb and the heatspreader are so small at LP that i wonder what will they do on a regular tracer pcb.
I hope they release in the future some 1866 CL9 1.35v Tactical Tracer modules.

Yes above 2500 my motheboard doesn't work dual channel anyway.
But that module doen't work even stoc and doesn't boot alone. It's almost deas.

If I'm not mistaken, the following two linked reviews are for the 2x8GB kits and you're right, they don't clock as well.

I wouldn't trust that much that reviews. There are few who make true hard core reviews.

So the 2*8GB did 1866CL8 1.5v and 2133CL9 1.5V.
So does the 2*4GB. Why it should be different above 2133 with the 8GB modules? At least not that much worse.

It could be that there are other chips.

Memtest 2400 CL 10-10-10-24-1T 1.6v. It seems that tRAS could be set lower than D9PFJ or D9QMS.

The second review was done by Woomack, and he's a pretty seasoned overclocker. I trust his results.

Another module came and so dual channel 2456 9-9-9-24-1T 1.70v Pi 32M.
D9QMT certain has 1.70-1.73v limit. At 1.75v even at stock XMP doesn't boot.
And probably above 1.6v it's not safe 24/7.

Tomorrow will try max frecuency my cpu under cold air can do 2800-2850 memory frecuency.

Seems like the way to differentiate D9QMS and D9PSH ( k revision,runningb better) from D9PFJ lays in part number,kits ending in 16FK* use chips :K revision,kits ending in 16FM* use chips : M revision(like D9PFJ)...

Interesting, might be a good choice for 24/7 general usage high density ram.

I got a kit of 2x8GB Patriot 1866 I was hoping were Hynix MFR but turned out to be D9QBJ. I couldn't find much info on that IC and in my short tests I was unable to get them to post at 2400 at any timings.

[EDIT] I saw PiLsY's results with this same IC earlier in the thread, looks like these just don't clock very high. I'll be returning these.

D9QBJ are nothing special, max you can do 2133 10-11-10 or 2200 11-11-11...

This is from a kit of 2x8GB Ballistix Elite 1866C9 I picked up locally. There are D9PQL and D9QLR chips on the same module. No boot at 2400 C11 even at 1.75v. 2133C9 is easy with 1.6v.

Do you have an Asus Rog board to try?
Because it might be a motheboard issue.
I sent to a friend to test an LP 1600CL8 1.35v 2*4GB kit. On Sabertooth 990FX the modules worked 2400CL10, CL11 i even booted CL14 to see if it works.
This friend has IB + Msi Z77 GD65.
And on his board he could do 2450CL9 32M but the board didn't boot at all CL10/CL11 ....

Not sure if it's Crucial fault but if you look on almost every motheboard memory QVL this memory it's almost inexistent.
All i found it's 1866CL9 Tactical 2*4GB. On Gene V my LP kit appears to.

You should check there are two possibilities, this memory to scale above 1.72v or not to scale.
Up to 1.72v you shoud reach 2300CL9(more chances to be so)
If it scales above 1.72v than you should reach 2400CL9.

Anyway i think most of Micron chips scales beter only with CL 7/8/9 and up to 2400.
