It's good to see these CPUs are surviving when you guys push so much vCore and keep LinXing and Priming.
130W and 120W sounds like a power-hungry CPU, anybody got a watt-meter to measure the total usage out of the wall?

I don't think it's accurate at all...
Try this.
Thank you. Here's what I got, if I got the numbers right:

What I don't get is that in BIOS I have my max power limit set to 120W and during prime95 or linX runs it never throttles (my multi is always at 48).
None of these tests prove anything. Passed the prime for 12 hours and manually stopped it. 15min later the OS froze while typing an email. It was set to 45, V1.33, LLC Ultra high. Don't even believe in high OC now.
A 12H small-FFT means the CPU is stable.
If you run Prime small FFT, then that BSOD means you have to check you RAM. You can check it with LinX or a good mem-test.
If you run Prime Bland, usually it means stable CPU and RAM, but not necessarily. The CPU may still be unstable. Then you need to check it with Prime small FFT again.
12H of that means your CPU is stable.
Run a mem-test, or LinX. You may need to add more vDimm, or loosen up the timing to stabilize the RAM.
At least this is how it works for X58 (and all earlier CPUs). SB shouldn't be different, but those who have tried small FFT without results on SB have to let us know tho.
Small FFTs still does mean CPU only. Once I got to where small FFTs would pass for an hour, I had to notch VCore up one (100th of a volt) to pass Prime95 blend. I knew my memory was right where I wanted it and it had passed memtest so it had to be vcore. Actually, I also tried VTT (VccIO on SB) but that had no effect on P95 blend.
These tests *do* mean something. :-)
yeah prime blend is hard on those CPU , linx show everything stable for 24h while prime reboot computer in few hours or less .
regards
You guys should be careful with LinXing too much or too long.
LinX is really harsh on the CPU, specially on those 1.4v+ vCore you guys are pushing. Don't kill that poor little CPU.
I've experienced what you guys are talking about prime vs linx, but in my seek for stability I've found a very interesting thing. I'll leave here what I did:
2600k 1.415v:
- 21 runs linX with Ht off stable ( it's in zalbard linX club the screenshot for this ).
Went to bios enabled HT:
- Prime BSOD 0x000124 on me like 15secs after start
- LinX 4C8T with [all] run for about an hour (15/16 runs ? ) wasn't in the mood to let it end...
went to bios and bumped the vCore to 1.425, and left it runing prime for the rest of the night ( 8hours give or take )
-It was still runing today...
But when I tryed to prove me point earlyer on this topic, I got a BSOD after the 3rd run with LinX, having him runing only in 4 cores...
It's still run's a lot of time with linX in all the 8 threads...
I've tryed to bump, and reduce vCore so far from 1.4v ~ 1.43v in Bios the results are all the same, so give it a litle bit more VccIO ( 1.15v ) and it's still runing...
In the end I think with this sandy it is yet to be the perfect test, I would make the CPU pass a mix of them, then I would gladly know it's stable
I use my machine for Lightwave so I've incorporated SPECapc into my testing. I was able to pass Linx & Prime95 but BSOD during a SPECapc Lightwave run.
By the way, our little CPU that could the (2600K) on air at 4.8GHz competes nicely with the big dogs (I realize none of those are OCed):

My score when I completed a run at 5.0GHz was 435. Score at 4.8GHz was 451.
We won't even mention TDP or performance-per-watt.
I would mention that yes, I just compared my $280 processor to a list of processors that cost a minimum of 3 times as much.
2600K, FTW
Ok, I have an update here.
So my 2500K was stable at 4.5Ghz with V1.33 for 12h according to prime, but still random BSOD.
I messed around with the AIDA64 Extreme Edition and accidentally clicked on submitting a report which scans for hardware and bah, BSOD again. Then I changed some vDimm settings, but still was getting the same BSOD on Aida64. Well, I thought what a heck and increased the cpu vcore to 1.34 and Aida64 finished the report without crashing.
anyone running those cpu @ high memory frequency 2400 + ? please share your settings
