yea i tried that in the beginning when i did a 4600 HT off linx run with 1.37v and then dropped vcore to 1.36v knowing it only needed 1.34v at 4515 HT on and it was good.then when i changed to 21x215 HT off w/1.40v bios 1.36v load to test my memory scores all was good until i tried priming and it crashed.so i tried vcore from 1.381v bios to 1.44v bios and still crashes?very strange.i will try vtt because i only tried upping it during these test from 1.36 to 1.44v.

yes Rob and its true im on my 4515's no HT 1720 6-6-6-19 profile, no point on using HT for gamming at all and also noticed what you say

Very nice mate, that batch has some awesome CPU's in it. had to track down another one huh? Looks pretty close to the one I have from those results.

I got a new baby :D Bought it before couple of weeks but used it at 4200 until today when i decide to test what it can do :) I was with Flaming Blade at first but now i am with UD3R and thats why i post in this thread...

Still I tried see how high an uncore/ram speed I could get on my W3540/UD3R/Mushkin and I couldn't even get close.

same here,i could boot at 21x215@4515 1720 6-6-6-19 w uncore at x16/x17/x18 and run everest and all good but at x19 it would lock up:mad:
but i have an E760 on the way so im happy:D

I think the latency is wrong at 2264mhz, ran 3 or 4 times and similar results but doesnt look right.

It all depends on the chip some have stronger imc than others. My W3540 is somewhat better than my 920 with the same batch as yours (3849B018) but even so not much luck with it today :shakes:... but I'll keep at it. The one thing I don't like about my UD3R and UD4P is the lack of easy voltage read points. Knowing actual load vtt is quite helpful when running high uncore. Don't expect the Classified to make your chip's IMC "muscle" grow but it might help some. I've got one more different batch 920 that I want to test next.

That is a nice 930! I haven't seen many (any?) running strong like that. What batch? and how much ~ vtt for those clocks?

I like WPrime because you can load it with 8 threads (which also gives you a quicker time/result)... and it still doesn't take too much time to run yet it is a demanding bench and good for starting to dial in your overclocks.

I've been exploring uncore a bit recently and posted to this thread last week. I thought you guys might find it of interest. The OP is an experienced and very skillful overclocker.

Looks to me like you lost a ram channel, latency appears to be dual channel results. That version of AIDA64 works good, I mean now crazy benchmark scores like the older versions of everest some still use.

Since you were pushing it, I bet that is what happened.

I have seen this a couple times with my rig & put it down to pushing to high ram speed vs latency. It won’t crash but kind of knocks the channel out, maybe it can be tweaked to run I don’t know.
Sometimes running high speed & or tight the PC will post then display "recovering lost ram" which I kind of put down to it dropping a channel trying to push to fast/tight.

Well I tried it again today with the mushkins and my other 920 on a R3F air cooled and I seemed to have better luck (stronger imc). Vtt was set to 1.52v in BIOS but the actual reading under load was ~1.444v using my Fluke MM. I wonder how much (if any) the Giga UD3R/UD4P boards droop vtt?

i wondered that too after seeing this and not being able to run 2000 cl8
like i could with my UD3R.but i had a different cpu too not just a new MB.
so my goal is to grab anothe i7-920(for cheap)just to test.that way i will
have a different MB a different cpu and the same ram,so either way i will
find out whats causing the several issues im having.im leaning towards IMC
being weak but i want to know for sure.if it is it just suks to have gotten
such a nice cpu(vcore wise) but to have a bad IMC,its like getting only 1/2
of what you want:D
but you can see thats some very serious vdroop on the UD7.

I figured something wasnt right with that run to get 30.6 ns latency. I was able to boot at 2300mhz c8 and ran AIDA bench again, latency was 35.x ns and broke 29k copy, but opening snipping tool for a screen was enough to make it bsod. The Batch# on the 930 is 3004B176, I will test VTT tonight with a DMM to see what it was actually using. Software reads way wrong on this board, tested before with DMM and for 1.46-1.47 software reading, DMM shows 1.345VTT. DRam read 1.66 software real with DMM is 1.635v, but not for these runs, I used much more this time.

@ PolRoger, nice job with the uncore and mem.:up:

edit: Ran this a few minutes ago, raised MCH strap to 2133 to keep it from crashing during screenshot, but killed my copy time I guess, it went down.

tested with DMM VTT~1.60v, DRam~1.68v

If your new chip is similar to mine then most likely it is imc related. Have you tried running/testing 2000ram/4000 uncore with either dual channel or single channel?

I just wish I had a strong kit of hyper like Dom GT 2K C7 or GTX2.

My E760 is currently idled on the shelf but I seem to remember E-Leet reporting vtt in windows different from the set value but it was always consistently off by the same amount as you changed settings in either BIOS or E-Leet.

Wish i had a nice WC setup instead of a "simple" air cooling so i could turn HT on.

I guess bclk and uncore wise i'm close to the limit, i refuse to go past 1.6 vtt/pqi!

Next stop is some 3D action but i think my OS is gone, it takes 74s to boot with all services deactivated! :eek:
