yes one side is, in the pic i posted above its on out right hand side.
im talking with Sovereignty and he pulled up teh white papers, it looks liek this chip is weird and the pin i marked in my pic IS pin 6, it goes from bottom left counterclock wise.

tech do us a favor, set your vdd up all the way, and try my vdd measure point. see what you read. i assume you have a multimeter. if not i have to go set up a comp for my AN7 and hope i can get my vdd to change....
Yes it looks like that's pin 6. I think you should turn the Vdimm down to 2.50 and see if you get 2.80v with that 15K.
If you keep it the Vdimm to high, and that's that the chip is for, the OVP will kick in and shut down the board.

im testing the mobo with nothing in it at all, and this is the vdd mod! vdimm will come later, i also found a vdimm measure point.
find teh mosfets under the dimm slots, now pick teh left most one with two legs pointing north, the left leg is your measure point.
and tech, we all hate you for not being home right now!!! ;) :p
anyone else have an AN7 setup PLEASE CHECK AND REPORT BACK ASAP!!!

Is the Vdd higher in the bios or that measuring point?
cant tell, im testing on a bare mobo, no cpu or anything,
Well i must say that im glad 2 see u guys are making some progress.
After all your efforts u deserve success, you will be the pioneers of the AN7. Just make sure the Japs dont beat you too it ;)

Yeah, it's either pin 2 or pin 6 to control the voltage we're thinking. Unfortunately with only a 15k res he wouldnt see much of an increase anyway, if he even got one at all. With a 10k @ 10k on my NF7 my vdd barely moved so it's hard to test.
In case anybody is anoyed by the Abit Guru logo at boot-up, here's a modified bios that I hope will take care of it.
I also updated SATA bios to v4.2.27

well tomorow afternoon i will have a good range of resistors, ill try a 5k on pin6/2.
i still need someone to confirm my vdd check point, just change y our vdd in bios and stick a multimeter on that mosfet leg and other ground. see what you get.
ok i got confirmation, that pin IS the vdd reading. so feel free and safe to check it.
well that was fun.. i cooked it. oh well. no luck for me.. *sigh*
i did pin 2 to ground, no resistor, it melted my wire and micro grabbers. lol.. that kinda sucks now.. those things are EXPENSIVE: $5.50 = 4 grabbers. and i melted the IC i was working with. so im done now. pin 2 is charred and black and it desoldered itself. maybe i should have used a resistor....... LOL.. wellll, should i get another AN7 to play with or get a refund?

still havnt found the vmod. i tried all kinds of things with teh mosfets and stuff. NUTHIN!
i also found three vdd reading points, and non would change.
see the resistor in the bottom of this pic, i think if that is penciled it will do the vdd mod. one end shows to voltage, the other is teh vdd voltage. also the lil black one next to it is the same but the hot end is 3.3 line IIRC. so one of those needs to be penciled in, if anyones willing. i dont think mine will work again, and if it does it will probly smoke and stink up my room, i need to sleep in it right now so no more sizzling sparking smokeing goodness for me!! hehe!:D :slobber: :( :banana:

Look, you tried. You couldn't ask for more my man Spork. It looks to me like we should wait on the Japanese to find the correct mod but most importantly, the correct Ohm range needed.
I think someone from Xtreme might find it too. If I take the board out of the case again, which I'll probably do, I will look more myself.

Ah man. I knew something like that was gonna happen. That's the price you pay when you bumble around blindly looking for stuff though :). It was worth a shot since the board never worked correctly anyway.
yup! im happy enough, i DID find three spots to measure vdd and a spot for vdimm so im happy enough. i think pin2 that i burned with about 10k ohm to ground might be it. i think my problem was using a 15k ohm resistor wasnt making a change lol.
