Some one try 4x1gb,particularly 4x1gb corsair 1800cl7?
Some one try 4x1gb,particularly 4x1gb corsair 1800cl7?
@Benchzowner: Merci, Thank you for sharing thoses reading points! Also I Still have an issue going upper than 1,57 Vnb, thus no need to do the OV_NB in deed :/
I seriously don't know where that limitation comes from, but it's a no go. Even with a boot after setting everything at stock values, to test that damn vnb...
Does anybody meets the same issue as I do? (hope not for him...)
Bye
hey guys i did a search of this thread for quad more specifically qx9650 settings and turned up nothing. any of you on qx9650 with luck hitting 4.5. I can get 4.35 but probably not as stable as it should be and would like 4.5. have you seen postings for this combo or would it comparable to the asus x48 premium. thanks
Updated pic with the following voltages measurement points:
CPU Voltage ( Vcore )
RAM Voltage ( Vddr )
NorthBridge Voltage ( Vnb )
SouthBridge SATA/PCI-E 1.5V Voltage ( Vsb_pcie )
FSB Termination Voltage ( Vfsb ) [ aka VTT Voltage ]
DDR3 RAM Termination Voltage ( DDRvtt ) [ Vddr_vtt ]
CPU PLL Voltage ( Vpll )

Well, I do not have only hard times with this Evo

Ai Twister on Moderate,
PL on 9,
strap400,
1.59 vNB and 2.14 vdimm that's a lot on memories(Cell Shock<D9GTR), it is well cooled by a 12 cm fan:).
Thats a little bit stable at least :D not pretending anything though :p: only wishing...
Everest Bandwitch gives this(same boot and settings): http://images4.hiboox.com/vignettes/...2a446ecbd1.jpg and for spi1/32m: http://images4.hiboox.com/vignettes/...a36866d876.jpg http://images4.hiboox.com/vignettes/...238a75f104.jpg

I also delayed the NB skew with 400µs while setting "normal" to CPU skew
Amazing to pass OCCT at 600 Fsb with an X48 mobo....
That new bios is kicking. Seems that with the release of P45, Asus found out how to make X48 clocking good 45nm cpus.
The Gigabyte X48-DQ6 and X48T-DQ6 are clocking good now with the latest beta BIOSes as well, so I'm guessing Intel updated something and the motherboard manufs integrated it into their latest BIOSes.
The fact that you can get very high FSBs even with most settings on Auto indicates that the BIOS eng's worked out the BIOS very well.
That's a little Occt, and not long enough. 3D is also possible, all of them :)
At 616: http://images4.hiboox.com/vignettes/...b7fabbeba1.jpg but didn't worked much on ram frequency there.
Btw, Is the P45 a good deal ?
:D Here's my goal - 8 x 600 also not worked much on the RAM......:

:up::up::up:
Which BIOS is best for "high" fsb (445+) with a QX9650 also considering I have 2x2GB 1800 MHz RAM I want to run at around their rated speed. It turns out that my systems crashes within minutes in games (COD4, Crysis, Oblivion) when running 445x9 even though it is Prime blend stable and Memtest stable for around 18 h. However running 421x9.5 is Prime blend stabe for 24 h and runs games perfect. I use BIOS 0504. I wonder whether it is my CPU or the motherboard/BIOS that is holding me back. I have been tweaking for months but can not get it stable at FSB 445+

*UPDATE*: Managed 9,5x426 70h Prime stable with tighter timings. Tried to tweak 9x445 settings based on response in COD4 but the settings needed for (at least short term) stability i the game will result in freezes in Prime (8 8 8 24, CMD: 2N, Ref cycle time: 88, V-NB: 1.61). I suppose it is the chipset that can not handle FSB 445+? Setting V-NB higher than 1.61 results in random freezes (I have a 120 mm fan on the stock NB heatsink and TIM replaced with MX-1). Running a 4/5 memory divider at 9x445 was not a problem meaning the CPU can handle the FSB (need more thorough testing with that to be conclusive).
pmp, do you work for Asus?
My board arrives tomorrow, will see how it goes with my E8500. I am also going to freeze it with LN2 once I get 8600 :)
My goal would be simple and sweet 10x600 32M :D
Hi there, not willing to show any hurry, but is there no new BIOS anywhere for that card? Not on asus support (GLOBAL) atm. Thx
no one meets problems with this board when trying to set 500 fsb and minimum 800Mhz for memories ? at any ratio in any strap like me? not selfish here!, just limitated I am...
Also, no one meets issues clocking CFx configs ?, issues arround vNB precisely ??
all bios considered.
I´ve have been testing this board the 2 last days. Bios 0504 is very wierd, but 0115 looks pretty fine here.
Max. Fsb until now SP32M stabel is about 590Mhz

Now I will try bios 0504 and do some mem tweak
Hi, newbie to this forum:)
I am running the P5E64WS Evo with a QX9650 and 4G of OCZ Platium DDR3-1600 @ 1333, and a pair of ATI 4850 in CF. Everything auto (including mem voltages). With BIOS 401, everything seems very stable.
Not trying to overclock. But feeling courageous and updated to BIOS 0504, system started to crash randomly, especially during HD/CDROM access, which indicates something with the SB. I had raised NB voltage to 1.41V and mem voltage to 1.7V and still random crashed with BIOS 0504.
Downgraded back to BIOS 401, everything is fine at auto (MCH @ auto, MEM @ auto) again.
What gives?
Where'd you get 0504 from? I don't see it on ASUS's download page.
Click me!
p.s. Ashraf m8, I replied to your SB temp question a min ago ( http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...6&postcount=21 )
Well, 49C isn't bad for the SB.
And of course it depends on your room temp.
If for example you've got 27C room temp then 49C @ SB is fine.
The ICH9R can work reliably up to 70C, so it's ok at 49C :)
I've been using it ( 0504 ) and had no problems at all ( I mean BIOS related issues ).
It has some stability, but under certain conditions, can't tell you which precisely. Seems it takes all or nothing, not sure actually. I can't boot with fsb at 500 and mem frequency from 800 and a bit higher BUT 600 fsb and 900 frequency for memories works well :D
I can't wait to get a new bios...
Instability may be caused by LLC set to Auto since this equals the Performance setting with this BIOS and which results in random BSODs for me (and others but not all). I suggest you set the FSB to NB strap manually to 333 and the FSB manually to 333 as well . Take a look at my detailed settings posted earlier. Try upping the NB voltage a little (around 1.45) and the SB voltage to 1.2.
:D With LLC set to "normal" there is a small Vdroop but my XEON really needs less Vcore than set LLC to "performace":
