Yeah please kup up it to your rapishare account and post the linky ASAP. :D Hope this one is better than the 1305 which was such a failure.
Lol, 1305 was utter crap wasn't it! :D I think I used it for all of 10minutes before reverting back to 1301.
As soon as I get the email I'll upload it and share the link!
Yeah i thought i was doing somnething terribly wrong i couldn't stabilse this damn striker at 2.7Ghz and i knew i got a chip that can do 3.6Ghz at 1.55V or at even lower vcore... so i flashed back to 1301 but still i can't break 3.4Ghz barrier stable, i can actaully boot into windows at almost 3.7Ghz but with only one mem stick...
Are you working around the FSB holes the Striker has with Quads? try *x425(1700) and that'll boot right up. I found bios 1303 to be better than 1301 for the Quad.
My Striker has LOADS of FSB holes with the Quad but time and patience let me get all the way to 475(1900)MHz with the Quad in!
I think the holes are 400-424, then from about 450-474 I think? And a few lower ones as well? Basically ANY of those FSB ranges, regardless of how stable the CPU is in another board, or the board is with a DC CPU, won't boot at all!
i haven't "discovered" all the holes yet as i only had this Striker for a couple of days. And frankly after working with Giga X38T-DQ6 and some other X38/P35 boards from Asus, this mobo was like the worse POS ever made in comparison... Man, X38+DDR3 is teh sh_it. I had to clear cmos like 1000 times on this one and i have probs booting my Dominators @ 1.88V - i have to boot with one stick, crank the volts save/exit and then install the other stick what a PITA.... Doesn't always boot with "Home" key pressed, had to remove the battery a couple of times etc etc.
Hmm never tried 1303 cos Asus pulled it from their site i think... Please link me to it just in case.
edit : i'll try these settings. Well i already did i think except the memory was at 1100 5-5-5-15 at 2.1V maybe that was the issue...
Ok mailed the 1401 bios.
Still total POS mobo and no bios will fix it, same hastle at around 1900FSB and same bugs and 1 non working GiG NiC since new, and all usual bugs like backlight flashing etc.
I had no gain or loss with this bios so its a waste of time for me.
Thanks for mailing it to kup. I have to give it a try i have no choice...
I can't find the 1303 bios right, now but I'll rip it from my own Striker tomorrow...
But in the meantime, have the unreleased 1401 bios! :D
http://rapidshare.com/files/72762217..._Bios_1401.zip
I haven't tested it yet, literally just received email from the chap up there ^^^, but flash it with EZ Flash from within Bios and it'll verify it for you first!
I had to get rid of the 1401 bios, after quick messing about with FSB upto 1900mhz, I booted into Windows and frooze.
I tried again with major volts (more than I need normally), PCwont boot, try lowering FSB which works but I cant boot with any higher than 1700.
Eventually I reset cmos etc and leave battery out for 15mins, cant get it to boot to bios screen, pull 3 Memory Modules leaving 1, get it to boot, redo bios flash with 1401 incase I corrupted.
Set to 1600FSB, boots so I try 1700FSB, locks up and have to reset cmos /battery out, 3 Memory modules out etc as above, reflash with 1303 and all is well again, I can run 1900FSB but as always it can act up for no reason even after hours of stressing just doing simple things so its unstable.
These Strikers Extreme mobos are total buggy CRAP.
Hi..open up PC probe today...this is what it shows..4.8v on almost all the voltages..i had 5 fans connected to mobo but none are detected..the comp is on stock settings(266x9)voltages on BIOS are on auto.i manually set the ram to 2.0v but it still show its on 4.v...?????gone bonkers i presume???using BIOS 1301..
..since its was Striker related i posted it here..thanks in advance..

thanks to you both for your suggestions, but sadly they did not work,
i have put another fan on the northbrige as you suggested.
i have also taken out 2 sticks of ram leaving just 2 sticks in the pc.
these were the settings i tried
vcore-->1.4
memory--->2.00
1.2--->1.5
nb--->1.45
sb--->1.6
cpu--->1.45
my computer would not make it to the splash screen for the bios.
i tried to load the setting from a cold boot with now joy
i tried 1700 (850)
i tried 1725 (862)
any suggestions please
K we need to clarify some stuff DidIneedthis, plz post all ya settings are you trying to run ya quad at 425FSB with 8 or 9 multi with only 1.4 volts on the Vcore ? That ain't gonna happen as the Striker drops badly set 1.5 or even more you will see ( if it posts that the real vcore is well below then what you have set) Also have you tried running the Ballistix at 5-5-5-15 timings as you are running them out of spec (I know they can do it but 680i with quad is very very critical to setup as you will have noticed by now)
Hey guys,
a few days ago i bought a striker extreme again, but i'm disappointed again. First i installed all water cooling components on the Board, put 2 x 2 GB G.Skill ddr2-1000 on it an did the 2 8800gtx into the slots. The Board was delivered with 1305 Bios. I've read a lot of bad thing about the Bios, so i decided to flash the 1303 Bios. everything worked fine but noch FSB 1600 stable with my q6600 g0. Also i had a lot of problems with the Razer-Bug. So i flashed 1301 but now nothing is fine. the max stable speed ist fsb 1400. Thats a lil crappy i think.
I used these settings, but if i want to boot with a higher fsb the screen keeps black...anyone got ideas?

1600FSB on the Striker is a well known FSB hole, many (me too) have had succes with 425FSB ( 1700FSB ) ram at 850mhz and 8 multi on the CPU
you are overvolting the ram mate take care, mine ran fine at 2 volts on the Striker...
I had the same thing happen 2 days ago. Been running for almost a YEAR at 3.6Ghz/1600fsb on an E6600, with NO problems... decided to go for more speed, and started out by doing the vdroop pencil mod. Mod worked perfectly, but I noticed probe started doing this 4.08v thing immediately after. Still runs fine though, but strange. This doesn't help you much, but I just thought I'd throw it out there in case someone else finds it useful. Bios is the original 0402.
Q6600/G0 on the way though... so this should be interesting!
...its back to normal after a few cmos clearin...was quite shocked to see 4volts+.....thanks for all the help..
@leeghoofd
thanks for your response.
i am trying to run my quad at 425fsb with multiplyer 8x (1700)
i have set the vcore to 1.6
set the timings to 5-5-5-15-2t
1.2---> 1.5
nb--->1.45
sb--->1.6
cpu--->1.45
memory--->2.05
cant even get it to boot to the bios screen.
can you see any thing wrong with these settings please
regards
Try 415 FSB mate so 1660FSB ram at 830mhz then, you on 1301 or 1303 bios ?

Screenshot from a german website, turrican3 got all voltages on auto except Vcore and ram voltage... (though it seems each board behaves differently) and he got also the NB and SB under water too....
no go at 415 either the monitor just stays black.
it does not reach the bios splash screen.
regards
Thanks a lot guys...i'm very happy with my striker now :) (Bios 1301)
