Man. I cannot get my x6800 over 3986 @ 1.55
Everytime I boot it with more than 1.55 or 1.575 it locks up and reboots :S
I can get my memory to DDR-900 @ 3.3.3.5 :D

With P5WDH no issues running 2.95+V with fatbody's...
b4 anyone points out that bios only has max.of 2.4...board is vmodded. ;)
oops
My northbridge is 3618B089 and the board is a very poor overclocker, cant break 380 even with max vmch
I am guessing that the people not hitting 400+ FSB have lowered their multipliers?
Seems like this may be the same issue as on the i965 boards were the north bridge freq = FSB x Default Multi/Current Multi
And the north bridge is only capable of around 470MHz....
Would explain why I can't go much above 400 FSB when I drop multi from 9 to 8.
Need to double-check what Sandra is reporting.
Nope, can't even get close to 400 on default multi, as much as I hate going through RMA this board may have to go backQuote:

hi shark ,can you boot dirictly ,with 2,0vchm .or do u forst set it when your in windows?which grafik card you using when 2,0vchm?
For 2D benching i use PCI card(Matrox 4mb  ) because u can boot with MCH voltage over 1.9V .
If u wanna use PCIe card u have to set your MCH voltage to 1.9V and when u get to windows then u bump it up over 1.9V.
thanks,thats what i thought,just like the p5w dh
Without mods has anyone been able to boot at 470 FSB?
No, 450 but not Orthos stable there.
No mods, but did AS5 all 3 heatsinks.
Andrew
I am able to hit 465 without Mods.
x6800 @ 4.1 ghz
7950gx2
Corsair 3.3.3.5 @ 990 mhz
With all the volt settings maxxed on the motherboard. But I do have a waterblock on my Northbridge
I can clockgen to 470 but cant boot that high can you actually boot at 465 or do you need to clockgen up and are you using watercooling for your chipset or air ?Quote:

So this 470 FSB appears to be an exception since nobody else seems to be able to do it with stock settings and air chipset cooling.
I am considering modding the P5W64 Pro for vMCH, vMem and vCore.
My primary reason is low FSB threshold of the P5W64 Pro. It is only moderately stable at 450 and is unstable at anything above that. Has anybody performed a vMCH mod and if so what were your results and will a Swiftech Air cooling block be enough to handle 2.0 vMch?
Any tips or lessons learned that you care to share would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
i penciled the biatch and now im @ 3.9ghz+ soon, 4ghz hopefullyQuote:

I am replacing my P5W DH Deluxe with this baby and I have high hopes for this one.
I have been using the board for a good while now, and it has been extremely stable and solid for me. I haven't even peeked into the bios for a couple of months, been too busy gaming to care ;p I didn't reach the clocks I hoped for, the chipset hits a hard wall at around 380, and no amount of voltage will get past it. From reading around there are quite a few others with the same issue, possibly the same chipset batch. However I have been running my 24/7 overclock at 380x9 , mem at 950 4-4-4-8 for months with server type stability so it's hard to complain too much :)
thinking of replacing board as it does my head with double restarts
above 300 fsb
i think 1 of the bios's fixed this issue over 300, but soon as you get
to 350 it suffer's double reboots even changing something in bios
other than overclocking, results in double restarts.
its a nice stable board if you dont use onboard sound
using onboard sound the board will takes ages on the windows scroll bar
i counted upto 14 or 15 passes
and theirs reports of the firewire ports dont work
the pci express slots clips are also very cheaply made, break of easily:slapass:
its funny how not 1 review mentions this or actually tests all features of the board
Hmm guess I haven't had to deal with any of those problems. Never owned a firewire device, most likely never will so firewire is disabled.
Using my Xfi so onboard sound is disabled.
Just flashed to the 402 bios, crossing my fingers that it helps me get a little more out of this processor.
