Check your temps. That may be thermal throttling due to high temps.

what ram are you using?
maybe we need to make a list of working and non working ram..
I Use Team Group 667mhz 2 gig 3-3-3-8 kit, no cold start problems works fine upto 375fsb on 1:1 2.2volts, boot up every time.
I think if we compile a list of working and non working ram we may see a pattern, which will help DFI in nailing the issues.

wait wait ... . i think i got the right bios!! 631 works well with my setup, no more eist and cold boots, but im still keeping my fingers crossed. hope it stays this way. but still no go for 360+fsb =(
Gandolf, can't understand how you got such a high fsb stable with so little voltage. Also you're the 1st one i've seen using the "cpu turbo add on speed".
How does that cpu turbo add on speed work? I've gotta add +162.5mV to get mine stable @ 355fsb & my temps are maxin out.
Could every1 else here pls post your settings.
Btw i'm using the OCZ ram in my sig & have it @ 5-5-5-15 4:5, 445Mhz with 2.15v and i have cold boot issues sometimes. Hope Dfi sort something out pretty soon as i'm gettin major pissed off.
i tried the cpu turbo add on speed and it didnt work for me.
mine's stable now with the 631 bios @ 355fsb +150mV !!! no more cold boots and eist =) i didnt even bother to disable the CE1 anymore,
I'm not the first one to use Turbo add on speed. I think somewhere in this thread 'Knook' (not sure about that name?) had it set in his post. So I did it and it ran fine maxed out. I have no idea what it does?
Pictures, this is how it runs 24/7.
More!
I see you have Vista. I have downloaded it 5 times, even used download managers and have yet to get a non-corrupt copy?
tnxs for the pics.. I'll load the 0731 bios.. I'm using the 0830 bios and got mostly the same result.. :)
Temps are fine. 25-30Quote:

I overclock to 266MHz and it's unstable. I believe i need to use the 266MHz bootstrap to get it to be stable at default clocks. So DFI people, can you have an option in the bios to select which bootstrap to use please. Or that spare jumper perhaps?
Yeah i was using some generic elpida stuff that was good to 400 4-4-4-12 that couldnt make it past 390 5-5-5-15.
Currently i am using some supertalent stuff that defaults at 400 4-4-3-8 and i cant get it to 390 5-5-5-5-15.
Processor is at least good to 400fsb as i tested it with one stick of ram.

your ram may very well be your problem. DFI has a long history of not liking cheap value ram. Get some good stuff like the Gskill HZ, then you will be good up to DDR1000 at least.
My teamgroup can take 800 @ 3-3-3-8 timings on this mobo. Though the CPU fsb still craps out @ 379.
i can manage to get my Team Group 667mhz 2 gig kit 3-3-3-8 at 800mhz for 12mins in super pi @ 2.28 volts, I recon with a better board it'd pass long enough to be considered stable.
back to cold booting again! but at least no more eist.
The Supertalent stuff is good man,Quote:

Why is my vbat suddenly gone from 3V to over 4V. I've flashed the bios, but no good.

BTW how can i get this board to boot with bios 731 and overclocked fsb? Beta bioses didn´t have this problem.. but the other problems.
Try setting failed oc control to 1mhz. I think the 0731 suffers from cold boots but it uses oc control instead of failing to boot. I find if it fails to boot 1st time it defaults to stock unless you set oc control. This sh1t really is head wrecking. Dfi obviously don't care bout this mobo.Quote:

Someone's buying my board for 160 dollars, should i give it? what's a good replacement?
Wait for the new Dfi :p: Its obviously what they're (DFI) concentrating on.
its going to be a long wait for that board, it's not even on their website yet. i was looking at the P5B but it seems that it's also plagued with issues. p5wdh perhaps?
