take one stick of memory out and then interchange them to see if you get the same results.
do you have another type VC to try out?

What do you (or anyone) suggest?
seems my board has a damaged pin in the socket = ( actually looks like it was there when i got it , its not bent but looks different then the other pins , cant find the right word , not damaged at the top but at the bottom of the socket.
Dont think i have caused this but cant be sure = ( going for antoher mobo monday as i cant wait for rma.
So what board to go with ? any suggestions all i want is 7 sata-2 gigalan and a the option to add a pci-e raid controller need 2x pci and 1x16x pci-e (for gfx)
Watercooled e6600 week 30 step A so i guess it will do around 3.8 ? so the board needs to to do 420-440 stable.
Any new boards being released soon ?
Would really appriciate any help deciding on a board as im going to be stuck with it for some time = )
I would hold out for the 680i. its coming soon. very soon.
FSB wall. 400 shouldn't be a problem on this board, but I need a lot more than that when I start phasing. :upset: Mine starts to die in the low 430's.
I think the P5W64's are best when paired with the X6800s and their fully unlocked multis.

I downloaded the 0215 bios again but when I try to flash it, it says the the bios is older (which it is) than the current bios and wont let me flash it. Anyone know how to go back to an older bios using the EZ Flash utility off of an USB drive???
Also, i just unplugged, switched of power supply, dissconnected 24 pin, took out battery, and took out bios chip. Im going to leave it out for a couple of minutes. While its out do any of you guys have any other ideas? I just got GW Nightfall and Company of Heroes so this delay is killing me lol :slap:

Anyone got the new bios?
I don't see any value in pulling the BIOS chip. Afterall, removing the battery and jumpering CMOS reset is designed to clear the chip's settings. If you remove it, how can they be cleared?

If all else fails, you can always pick up a cheap USB floppy drive, and then it is a breeze.

Ya I tried getting into safe mode also with no luck. Looks like I will have to find a floppy drive...:( . Whatever. Oh, what are the force flash commands?
Thanks guys, if anyone else has any ideas let me know!
thanks again:)
I appoligize, I was thinking VGA BIOS flashing. Hehehe.Quote:

cool! Wait, will using EZ Flash with a floppy run into the same issue where it says the bios im trying to update to is older than the current one?
thanks for the help guys
No. With a floppy it will just flash whatever file you tell it to.

A laptop floppy may be difficult if not impossible to hook up to your motherboard.
Andrew
....crap, laptop floppy drives dont hook up with 34 pin connectors? Maybe this is a sign that Im supposed to be doing my homework today instead of roaming the fields of Elona or commanding troops in major WWII battles.....or eliminating terrorist forces before they can set off a bomb, or capturing strategic military points until the other teams points count down while being hit by artillery.....Or...:D
