Actually a very good idea as a fail safe, nice.Quote:

update on the kid from Microcenter...
he called me back and told me they have them instock and he CAN sneak one out, but he isnt sure if they will let me purchase it when they ring it up... im thinkin of drivin over their at 5 when i get off work and assessing the situation myself... althought it would end up bein kind of expensive, 399 for the e6600 and 40 for the kid...
ofcourse i could tell him ill pay him outside and leave... decisions, decisions:hrhr:
Yeah, I don't feel bad about paying 199 usd for the E6300 at all. Now if it's a crappy overclocker that's another thing :p:
Kentsfield isn't supposed to be too far off and I may just ride an overclocked E6300 to it.
LOL dude don't do that. I say go try it, but don't stiff the kid!Quote:

That's my thought with the E6400 I "settled" on today as well. Rather put the $300 I saved in doing so towards Kentsfield, and if the 6400 I get is a good overclocker, I can then wait until well into 07 to make the switch.Quote:

I think only e6400 is avail at clubit, e6600 is gone. They must have had the quota of preorders filled.

i just went to Fry's in OC, CA just for kicks. The guy said people have been asking so he checked and they have none in stock and don't expect shipment until late next week.
yea, i grabbed the retail as well, now both are sold out
e6400 gone at TD
anyone with tracking number from TD check it recently? is it moving? it is possible that they issued a tracking number even tho it hasnt been shipped. it would say something along the lines "billing info recieved" or "shipping details received" when you track it via the website.
...its happened to me before, and the item proceeded to ship like 4 days after i recieved the tracking number... that would be nothing short of cruel and unusual torture if they did that till august 7th...
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...093&CatId=1568 <--- Read the text not the title.
That is not a bad deal.
I also have a shipping number on Tiger Direct. What usually happens is all tracking numbers will go out at same time, I have had it where it doesn't update till the following day. Overnight is weird and most companies dispatch shipping numbers long before they will actually physically be in the hands of the UPS person. Billing information recieved means they did the billing electronic. These may be scheduled physically with a UPS person.
