Rainmeter w/ loads of skins. Everything can be scripted, and it is rather easy to comprehend it. Just install rainmeter, and try out the standard enigma skin. Examine it, play around, and then use deviantART to get other elements - and mix them.
Some tabs open, with a skin setting.

Here is my current background. The resolutions don't quite match up, but you can't tell because of the bezels on my monitors. The jpeg compression used to get the file size small enough to be posted on these forums also kind of screwed up the quality.
