Dropped off a bit yesterday...but great work from such few members :up: :up:
Just upgraded my quad, been running since last night. This will give me 3 quads running 24/7 on WCG now. This one at 3.8, another at 3.6, and the last one at 3.35.
http://img260.imageshack.us/img260/6383/38wcgtj8.jpg
nice! what board?
P5K Premium for that one. P5K Deluxe for the 3.6, and a P5B on the 3.35 one. The rig in my sig, plus another quad with a Neo 2-FR, I run F@H on. Then I also have an E6300 @ 3.4 and a x2 3800 @ 2.8 running D2OL. That's the farm :)
Was just just going to bring up this point, but I don't know if I'd really call them all that new though(well, to WCG I mean). Those that have checked to see what's going on at R@H these days will have noticed a new team in the lead; ESL started a team there some months back and totally crushed our point stockpile.
http://boincstats.com/search/all_pro...b2b3e3ad12beae
It looks like they have cut back on R@H and probably will be putting a lot WCG instead, or some of the other projects too. Luckily, it looks like over all boinc projects they don't quite command the output Team 2ch does, so we could stand a chance. This just means we need to make a push forwards :up:

Quad #39 went online an hour ago.:) #40 will be here next week and I am not telling what it is.
DDTUNG:cool:
Dug around a little bit for giggles, looks like ESL is here for the bunny points race that starts March 1-24. Could be interesting to see what they bring with 4k+ members all actually contributing.
Their news on WCG
WCG invite to bunny Thought that was amusing.. the post from Nelsoc saying they were having trouble handling just the mass registrations of esl.
Looks like march might be fun!

Hey, MM, is that that buttthead, Saenger, I spy in the second post of that thread?
The guy with a Napolean/Vienna Sausage complex?
That's him..The "Do-nothing " from our last project.
The guy spends more cycles complaining about others than he puts into all the 37 projects he "does" combined.
For those here that don't remember this character I figured out one day that I did more in a day than he did in the previous SIX MONTHS!
And all I had was the 2 DX machines back then..:ROTF:
He was one of those that screamed that "every little bit counts"
My comment to him was thats true, but one has to be able to at least measure your contribution..:rofl:
So are we participating in this race thing or what ?
So I really need to sit down and get my PCs together and running.
Hey Dave want to take a short trip to NE PA, give me a hand getting the two loops and rigs up and running?
making a new rig there phelan?
no, not a new rig, I had two rigs when I was @ my gfs parents house, just didnt have the parts to finish it.
Moved into our new place and only had one rig up, because I wasnt sure how it would affect the electric bill, but seeing it warmed up the office quite a bit, and I am working again, I can pay for the juice, and gf likes it cause she doesn't like cold, so its a win win for me, just have not gotten around to finishing things, been really cold here so I haven't not been able to work on the CM690 outside, cutting and sanding.
Now I have all the pieces for a loop for two rigs, and have my main down because I need to swap the CPU block, clean out the loop, and putting in new water and cleaning blocks.
Will have a X3220 and a QX6700 @ 3.2-3.6 when both are up, as well as SLI on main for gaming and getting my 7900GTX back up on the X3220 rig.
So close to 5m :up:

That is just amazing, this team is the best. A few show the many what XS is all about. :clap: :clap:
Think about it, almost 5mil from less than 300 daily contributing members, you guys/gals rock. :toast:
Edit: A very special thanks to DDTUNG for setting an example of excellence for all of us.
with quad #39 & #40 online , DDTUNG will do 1 million / day :eek:
Holy $hit you RocK !! :rocker: :slobber:
WOW:clap: , almost 1M/day, thats more than......................
I lost my train of thought! Thats just, wow, what a inspiration, but my house would not be liveable with 40 quads running, i would have to have large "house" fans running to keep the heat down.:clap: :clap: :clap: :clap: :clap: :clap: :clap: :clap: :clap: :clap: :clap: :up: :up: :up: :up: :up: :up: :up:

It should be noted that ESL now has more than 5,500 members on their WCG team and they still can't match our output. Even if they did, they would still be more than a billion points behind us.
We do it for the reward in helping the future of medical research...most of the other teams seem to have other driving forces ;)
Help me out on this one. ESL is a new team that joined this week?
Very true.. I'm sure we all know we don't need our own "drives" pushed... pure addiction is sufficient... but it is sometimes enjoyable to put a new fire into others. It could have been a good excuse to spread the addi...errm fun around.
yes, they just joined about 2 weeks ago, for the 2 march points races. WCG had a little trouble processing their 5500+ sign ups in such a short time :rofl: Their power per user may not be very impressive.. but their organization certainly is.
Not sure they are going to stay after march, but its certainly a very good boost for the projects.
well I know we are not 300 anymore, since we have grown quite a bit, but none the less we are the XTREME 300!
I should get to sleep easily tonight, cause...............<looks out the window and sees the sheep run by...........
Looks like the mick and the hicks @ at it again.........:rofl:
<Yawns and heads to bed
damn just giving me more and more reason to get a yorkfield......

Do they have some incentive to crunch like easynews? As opposed to unmatched dedication, hardwares and skillz like those of us at XS? :)
Well it took 5500, also, this is a key question, how many will stay with the project?
With all the grp jumps, there is the "I JUST JOINED" hype, but there is always those that come off the high and don't stick with the project, no matter the team.
"The Electronic Sports League (ESL, formerly called ESPL) is a league for computer gaming. Since it derived from the Deutsche Clanliga (DeCL), it is the oldest league of its kind. Furthermore, its more than 750,000 registered members, 350,000 teams and 4.2 million matches carried out so far make it one of the biggest European leagues for professional computer gaming. It comprises a professionally arranged and organized gaming and league system with more than 1,800 leagues for both, amateurs and professionals as well as approximately 80 games of every popular genre."
Well, if we few, we merry and stoic few can stand firm to such a mighty foe, though we may fall, we will not fall easy. Much to the chagrin of many that dare face our small band.
As my girlfriend would say Hmph!
Well, it is obviously good for the project. And pretty cool that a gaming organization would advocate crunching to it's members...
And, of course, we're the superstars when it really comes down to it and certainly always will be. This just proves it even further. :up:
edit: awesome Bob! I was gonna offer you my newly old Zalman 9500 but I guess I'm too late even if you would have wanted that semi-decent hsf
75K members, so that is what it takes to give up a run for our money. Lets not forget, we do have David. :D
And the Hamster Master is a team of his own making all that try to stand toe to toe to him cringe in his presence. :bows:
Lol, sadly, that's the way I've begun to think. I bought an amd 5000 be because I had a spare heatsink laying around that I didn't think would really cut it for a Quad. And I wanted to go back to having at least ONE amd system, figured I'd use it as my gamer/browser, then strip the intels down and make em go to work. Problem... Big typhoon didn't fit on AM2... and my shop is stuck away in a cargo container atm. So... I STILL have that damn sink laying around :rofl: Maybe I'll have to buy another quad to replace my 6400 (didn't I do that in january already?).. oo then get another mb, ram psu for the 6400!
I was even joking with my friend who shares gilmore with me.. he decided to upgrade his ailing 1200 athlon (finally!) After several days of Dave style conversations I had talked him out of a dell e2200 and into a pretty decent q6600... along the way I (mistakenly) questioned his idea to buy 8gb of ram... I brought up that I did not discourage it at all... as ... even if he didn't have anything that needed that much memroy... and he had to pull 4gb out .. that it would be a nice start to another system... can't leave that much ram laying around collecting dust! It was a half serious joke, but I still wish he had gone the full 8gb :p:
Anyway, if anyone is in Sacramento, and has a spare pci, or pcie vid card, I'm sure he'd be thrilled to be able to put power to it... and get it on the grid this weekend. Everything came but the quadro card... he has to wait till tuesday for that.
now... about that typhoon.. what to do.. what to do.....
You've caught the essence of it all, the answer is simple, and you already know what it is......Build another machine!!:eek: :D
My latest addition is doing an op sys install right now. She booted fine, with a very easy labor, and I feel like I should be passing out the cigars, saying welcome to the farm.....:up: I don't know, the 12th quad is almost as thrilling as the first.....and so it goes...:rofl:
Remember, Dr. SiG is our resident Staff expert here. I'm sure he can help you over the guilt of adding "just one more"...:shrug: :clap: :rofl:
lol my typhoon is going on my 3220 for now till I get another part for a loop.
My output will be down for a few days, due to a power outage at the office that kept my farm there down for the better part of Sat/Sun. Some 15 sticks of DDR2 ram died as a result, though I managed to bring the entire farm back up except for a E6700 rig and a DC rig which I'll work on next week.
DDTUNG:cool:

That's why :D
After I repaired and restarted most of the rigs at the office on Sunday there was no internet access since the routers were also taken out and were not restarted until Monday morning. But I am happy to report that all rigs are back online, though a score of quads are now running on 1 Gig of ram in single channel.
DDTUNG:cool:
That is going to be one big dump :D
http://www.feebleminds-gifs.com/smiley-faces-86.gif
Good to hear you're back up. When you said your score would be down, I didn't think it would be that far. :eek: You must have the majority of your quad farm animals stabled at the office.
I suppose with the dump you will likely see tomorrow, it will probably be a record daily score for you. Congrats in advance....:up:
I put on quad #12 last night. It's my new garage workbench machine. I'm typing this on it now. It was an easy build and software install. This machine also looks to be a good clocker. It is a week 39 Q6600 on a DS3L. It's at an easy 3 gig with just 1.4 bios CPU volts set, for loaded CPUz volts of 1.312 and coretemps of 55,55,49,51. I'm thinking this one may do 3.5-3.6 with some tweaking. I'm getting better at clocking slowly but surely.
Regards Victor,
Bob
Wow, I know you spend a hell of a lot of time this weekend trying to get everything back up best you could, Victor. I'm sure hat was a lot of work!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I spent the better part of 10 hours, today, deep in computers. I had a quad rig, I had loaned out, returned to me. It has an OS installed now ( the drive that was in it was the only part of it that wasn't mine ), but I've run out of time for the day. I'll get it fully up tomorrow.
The guy returned it after several months of use ( and crunching, of course ) because he finally got the last of his parts together for his first build. It is kind of a mirror of the one I had loaned him, LOL. We spent most of the day putting it together.
q6600, 2 x 2GB Patriot, 550 GB of SATA HDD, Blue LED Tuniq Tower 120, Sapphire HD 3870/512, Corsair 520HX, twin DVD-R/RW's. The best part of it is he kinda likes the idea of crunching, so he will be joining his rig to XS~WCG
I've been having random issues with work units not wanting to automatically report for the past couple of days. So I'll go to uni, then come back and find that I've got 10-15 WUs qued up waiting for me to hit "Update". Also having the odd issue with WCG not sending me new WUs to replace the ones I've finished. If others are having the same problem, then their headless crunchers might have a bit of a que waiting for them.
