I knew about that one a long time ago;) It's been on HWbot for a while. No surprise, as my 185 wasn't really a killer chip:(
he nearly broke my 4000+ with two cores... :D
btw: 3,5days to -196°C :D
very nice man. all i can say is impressive!!!
A little longer for me, but I hope I'll crack a few WR's then. FX55 SD, FX57 and 3700+ SD. I guess I can improve the Newcastle WR's I got this weekend, as I didn't hit the CB (not too far away, but if I can get 50mhz more it's worth it:) )
I think I have a couple of more chips that can stand the coldness, but I doubt they're good enough to be WR candidates.
Looking forward to benching the video cards as well:) LN2 on a geforce 2 mx:D
Nice statistics on ripping.org ;) It is really impressive that 2 or 3 freaky guys tested the old school socket 939 and will take all records in the future.
@ knut
look at this: http://cgi.ebay.com/AMD-Athlon-FX-60...QQcmdZViewItem
ACB2E sounds rare but the rest isn´t good enough...thats one of the first steppings of the fx-60 by the way.
ACB2E have worse coldbugs than B1 and BI, and on average they OC a bit worse than the other 2, so I don't think it's a WR killer. But the seller wants a confirmed address, and then you have to be registered on USA or UK (maybe Canada is possible as well, but I'm not sure). And hey! I'm broke:D
When the price comes down I'll buy one, but I don't like to pay $350 for a quite common chip. Getting the $$$ for another 156 is what I'm going for now. + getting a nice 170 and a nice 185, of course:D
Edit: 17 of 54 939 WR's are NOT in the hands of The Three Musqueteers.
knopflerbruce (me): 24
stunned_guy: 8
gianni-gt: 5
The rest of the X2 WR's WILL be mine someday, but I need to buy one first. Only DC Manchester I ever owned was the 3600+! Ah, and a CRAPPY 4600+, yes. I'm also willing to bet a dozen CPUs on the fact that I will get the FX55 WR when I get my LN2.
I knew that B2 is horrible with cold bug, but I never seen one ACB2E.
I won´t buy that FX...but I search for another cpus like FX and Opteron like you ;)
Stay clear of the damn BQ's, btw:D Someone will crack your 170 WR because of the 20-30c lower temps they get by any other stepping (except B9's I guess lol):)
I have an X2 3800+ Toledo LCBQE. Does 3.2ghz @ 1.44v, but needs 25-30c to go past 350mhz FSB. My WR is in Old Faithful CCBIE 0608BPMW, which was nice at +5c.
Who is cracking my record of that Opteron 170 ? That will be very hard because of the little multiplier of that cpu.
This could be the start for water cooling with cold air....that will be the final key. Or an chiller like gianni ones....and we will get more than 3.7 ghz.
My LCBQE needs +10c to go over 360 mhz htt...
Prime will rocks with default vcore around 3.2 ghz...i have to put the evaporator loose to get temps above 0c because of the cold bug.
So long now its time for bed. see you ;)
This thread gets better and better as the days go by :D
What about this one, any potential?
Code:ADA3500DAA4BP
LBLLE 0521APGW
Z704944f51623
Venice core, by the way
my tip: don't bet money on it...
my LBBLE 0520CPMW was a crap with normal cooling... subzero => former wr
You'll never know what you get (coldbug) when you get an E3. I have an 0517xxxx that's pretty nice, can do 375mhz at the same temp as my 0526 won't boot at 334mhz. Didn't even try lower, because I already then new it was crap:D
I wonder if the last bios that ati made for manta would net me anymore.......I was limited to ram :(
Yes its real I validated it in the RD580 thread that i started....
http://members.cox.net/wmdieselmc26/x2%203800%20WR.jpg
took me a while to find but here's the validation for nay sayers.......
http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=79315
Boards capable If I can find some memory that agrees with it...5xHT multi, more than capable ;) I think that was a world record HT speed for manta.....
http://members.cox.net/wmdieselmc26/HTT.jpg
LOL the never-ending story about the Opteron 156 "ES" continues!:) After 2 months in the hands of mr x the sender got it in return for the THIRD time!
Holy mother! I bought it in AUGUST and this story isn't over yet:D
He sent me a picture of it, so I thought I could share it with you guys...
i donīt believe what i see.
and my ADAAA2800ACN5 is in CPU-Z 2600+.
http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=317592
My ex Toledo couldn't get 2.9GHz with 1.8V also LCBQE
Why ex? my MB died :( My DFi Infinity goes to haven/hell :D
So I must sell this CPU and get Intel platform. I know this is stupid but here (in CRO) is hard to get new s.939 mbo's so I have to. But i will keep reading this thread because i get new frends here and I was (?) a part of the great s.939 family here.
knopflerbruce, stunned_guy and gianni keep breaking the WR's and i congrats for the results these days knop
I enyoy seeing the s.939 WR from you guy's...
Thanks for the nice words:D Are you sure your mobo can take that high FSB? I know it's a DFI, but the infinity's must be of worse quality than the LP mobos. Or no-one would buy the yellow sexbombs;)
1.8v on a BQ! How hot was it?? Me and my bench-buddy call them BarbeQue's:D There's a reason for that...
939 is still decent, but DDR memory + CPUs + decent mobos are still kinda expensive, so no point in buying new stuff (unless you're like US:yepp: ). But you can go AM2!:D
MBO didn't like FSB more than 320 but the V can go to 1.95V
here somo ss of temps with 1.6V and 1.7V
http://shrani.si/t/D/8i/bTAbD1u/2982170v.jpg http://shrani.si/t/2I/6g/2nh3ctlS/29...emperature.jpg
about am2... i don't have so much money for good mbo and cpu and for extreme OC :D i getting Intel MBO for "gift" so i think it's better variant. but one day I'll come back to AMD I hope, soon :D
only 1day to go, then the waiting has an end. :D
http://octs.ripping.org/t2w_wetter.jpg
-196
People will be frozen there :D
Anyway, good luck with the bench session!
the cold in switzerland is not bad :ROTF:
Thanks for the SN:D
I wrote "ES", as it's one of those A-steppings with core voltage written on the bottom of the chip (hoped this one would be 1.35v:D ) Dunno what's the difference between this one and the normal C-steppings with no core voltage on the IHS.
Btw, my Opty 180 does 3050mhz stable on air and 1.26v:D And 400mhz fsb @ 20c:)
Oh BOY I'm looking forward to run this chip on dice:D
400 mhz htt is really good for an dualcore...but you dont need such an htt because there is an multiplier of 12.
High fsb on air could mean that it's not so vulnerable to coldbug on dice:)
I had this up to 3840 once, I remember. For some stupid reason I didn't make a valid.
Got it to 3500 @ 1.50v in bios ( I guess 1,452 or something in CPUZ), btw. Just a quick test:D On AIR and 30c idle temp.
This thing is gonna FLY! Too bad it's so hot - sweet spot is at about 1.36v!
Nice clocks ;)
Dont forget to use the newest cpu-z version ;)
I will, but only when I bench for real, hehe.
When will we see some results from gianni, btw? You know something?
it's not an amd day :) or should i say, no gianni day...
all my s939 cpus suxxs... 3800+ doesn't reach my highes dice-results... :( and my FX-57 suxxs even more!!!! doesn't make 4ghz!!!! atm ~95L LN2 left... not benched any intels under LN2....
not a funny day. :(
Which FX-57 ? 0516 WPMW ? Temps ?
the fx-57 had a really shiddy startup coldbug... -75°C on the tube and the cpu doesn't start anymore... the 3800+ was better with that... had it running at -86°C idle-temp... but it's a real crap!
new personal best with my 3800+ reached! all are sleeping and my cpu working better :D
and the coldbug nearly don't exist... you won't believe what htt i've reached at -30°C!!!
Wont this thread ever die?
yes, when stunned_guy, knopflerbruce and lieying in the grave :D
ok: open your eyes!!!
http://valid.x86-secret.com/cache/screenshot/319489.png
http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=319489
1.824V / -30°C @ LN2
holy crap, nice result gianni :D
Higher MP !!! :D:D
did i ;) waiting for stunned_guy to post more results. :D
very nice gianni :)
I have "good" news - I'll stay on s.939 :D but i have one dilemma.
i found one LP Ultra-D and one Asrock 939Dual-VSTA. The difference betwen price is 20$. So I'm asking, is it worth to give 20$ more for Ultra-D without warranty or to pick Asroc mbo for 20$ cheeper with warranty?
I know Ultra-D is the best OC mobo but i realy don't know is it worth?
and one more question...
I can buy a Opteron 144 for 50$...
Stepping : CAB1E 0614MPMW
Without HS / and did 2833Mhz @ 1.28V ---> http://shrani.si/t/2Y/pa/4p6zx2T3/04-06-071911.jpg http://shrani.si/t/k/mV/2qeQwk69/144-2833-128v.jpg
to buy it or no? :D
tnx
everything with 0614 sound good to me. ;)
and that was the deepest subzero screen i've got with my 3800+:
http://octs.ripping.org/3800_-86_small.jpg
Here I am, gianni :D
Lets start the party.
404 MHz @ -30c for an Venice core is really amazing. But I wonder how high temps you have with LN2 and default vcore
-89c isnīt very good with LN2, I reached -122c with LN2 and an FX-53 clawhammer at 1.956 v. So why are your temps so bad ?
below -86°C the cpu wouldn't start anymore....
and what i've said before this lan-party? i'll crack PC Ice :)
and what i've did this weekend????? :D :D cracked one of the oldest s939 wr's :D call me mr. venice....
here are the results from the swiss voting... ääää i mean my scores:
sucker:
http://valid.x86-secret.com/cache/screenshot/319488.png
http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=319488
AND
gianni-gt (1.904V / -41°C) @ LN2
http://valid.x86-secret.com/cache/screenshot/319487.png
http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=319487
but that wr was hardcore... during the oc-session i've tried for ~2h (afternoon) to crack that wr but with people arround you who looking at you while overclocking, i've reached only 3769Mhz.... in the morning ~3:00am i've started again with ln2 (in the dark)... on 07:41am local swiss time: i've reached heaven. :D
i think during the last 2hours of that 3800+ session i had a pulse of 180, because to make the validation was really hard!!
Aha! THIS is what you're up to! Well, nice score!:D Anotehr one for the Musqueteers!;)
Btw, I had the same "problem" with my Opty 154. First try only 3750, 2nd... well well well:) But yeah, ppl looking at u can be disturbing sometimes. Besides, they may get some ideas on how to reach these sick clocks;)
btw, i've used a unsual method to hold the temperature solid in with the dragon evo... alcohol + ln2 :D
yeah: i'm really mr. venice :D http://www.ripping.org/database.php?coreid=Venice highest venice clock of all time :)
Look at the percentage of oc....there I will be the no.1 within the venice :D
what a beauty:
http://bastel-gianni.ch/projekte/t2w...00_wr_chip.jpg
OCTS LIVE @ T2W ARTICLE is online ;)
Without HS....but your temps weren´t good.
all about the coldbug! they couldn't be better...
btw: since yesterday my official name is king of venice... hahaha
http://www.locandaartdeco.com/alexhai.jpg
lol, nice article gianni :toast:
Oh come on! 8MHz away from the magic 4! Nice results :D

The AAACB looks nice :) Very old K8 :D
donation for stunned_guy is on the way: :toast2:
http://octs.ripping.org/fx_to_stunni.jpg
That processor of hell is on way to me
FX-57 0516 WPMW :D What else :D
Über-Single-Stage ---> that is the key word :D
I think I will also need LN2 to crack the barrier of 4 ghz...more isn´t possible I think. gianni stayed below the 4 ghz btw :(
but for the price i have to take that...
special price for an old friend.... :D hope you'll find those f.... 9mhz...
on the way unmarked CPU.
http://i16.ebayimg.com/04/i/000/dc/a3/77ff_1.JPG
an intel with a amd hs. :D
shame on me, just installed my first s775 system... but those 45nm chips are really cool... with the boxed-cooler is the cpu less warm than my sandiego on default under water...
Shame on you :D
hey guys what you think about CABYE 0536GPMW (opti 144)
not brown, but green....
http://octs.ripping.org/0614_no_hs2.jpg
but a guy in germany told me that he had a brown die.
I didn´t still see some brown pcb....if there is one ? I dont know.
What cpu is that with 0432 ? Clawahmmer / Newcastle core ?
Oldest 939 is 0407 that I saw ---> its my FX-53 SAASC 0407 TPMW :D
@gianni: http://ripping.org/database.php?cpuid=73
This cpu is socket 939, not 754;)
o thanks. :D
@ socket
Do you like to buy the FX-53 SAASC ???
no, i have not money :)
that 0432 is 2800+ in 754 ;)
but i must see brown in 939
No money ??
Overclockers will ever have money :D
i am collectioner not overclocker :) and i am stupid student :)
Picture: http://i31.tinypic.com/ncdxds.jpg
As you can see, GREEN PCB:p:
Very nice pic !!! That is amazing for all overclockers. The Stepping is totally unnormal....RABPC 0352 MPM :D
And than the last numbers....is that an engeneering sample ? It seems so.
Hmm, this thread is dead, no?:p:
10 days till my LN2 fun begins:D
Any results with the FX57, Phillip?
Yeah, I agree...
Knut, do you still have that 4000+ for me? The one I PM'd you about. If so, I'll probably take it at the end of this month. Another thing, what would you ask for your dual core Opty that did 3.05GHz on 1.28v?
Yes, I still have the 4000+ I told you about, but I think I have a couple of better ones of the same type. I will test them all and let you know.
The 180 that did 3.05 @ 1.28v isn't for sale, a it's my WR opty 180:D But I have another 180 coming from germany soon, that's the same batch as the one that Biohead had, which did 3.1ghz @ 1.4v air cooled. I'll let you know ;-)
Nice oc's but, thread seems to be kinda dead but lets see :)
