I'm surprised they don't answer the phone and cancel all the e6600 for $339.00 orders then sell them for $359.00.Quote:

Any new info on when the E6600's are going to be available and why they are nowhere to be found right now?
They can be found here. Hope you're sitting down:Quote:

i purchased a p5b deluxe at like 430pm EST on friday. - ~$210 - three day shipping. i had tracking number that same night - i expect the board tomorrow.Quote:

btw.. the e6600 was listed for preorder at $350 until yesterday afternoon on xpcgear.com they raised the price after they got it - i won't buy it form them...
VERY tempted to pay 420 dollars for that xPC gear... I am fvcking tired of waiting...
Honestly, I expect to pay 420~ for a 6600 at this point.
Unless my local Fry's gets some soon..
Yeah, I'm thinking either pay 420 for the xpc e6600, or pay 350 or so for an outpost.com preorder that is coming 8/14.
Yeah i'd say Retail box is going to be going for 420 for quite some time, with the littler guys waiting on distributors like ASI Computer and Ingram Micro the Prices will stay high.
also what is up with ATACom?? i ordered a mobo there like a week ago got that sinking feeling that it was a raw deal cancelled but now i see they are the only place with a p5w DH in stock... i really need both that mobo and an e6600... OEM from Micro Center is getting more tempting since i can have it today @ 408 after tax and crap
Call them and ask for the Froogle price which is still advertised at $349 for a E6600.Quote:

I accepted their offer. $329 isn't too bad for a E6600 and I don't plan to use a factory heatsink. I'm also not worried about warranty >1yr either.
I'll refrain from leaving them negative feedback if they do what they say.
I ordered from XPCgear.com to get my p5w and some memory. I asked for a newer mobo with conroe compatible bios but they gave me an old one and they shipped the memory seperatly w/o informing me. It was also shipped ground [the memory] when the original order was 3 day.

Sure, I can see where one could confuse a bunch of retail boxes with trays full of processors
One of two things happened: Either the inventory guy really IS that stupid, or they did this intentionally to get people to order from them under false pretenses. Either way, that's not good.
yeah you guys just renewed my patience, only problem is i need a rig to leave for school with and that day is August 30th. and i still need a P5W and an E6600, thats all im waiting on
and o yeah, SCREW ATACOM... they are inflating their own reseller ratings, i read all their ratings everyone who speaks NORMAL english with Verbs nouns and the like gives them dissatisfied, people who speak with broken english and missing verbs give positive and the guy i spoke with on the phone also spoke very broken english... i would say avoid atacom like the plague.

If it was bait and switch what did they accomplish? They could have sold out their OEM E6600's in a couple hours at $329 (incl shipping)
Ok, PC Club's website says "Slight Delay", this is what that means.
6600's..Quote:
Unfortunately, the next shipment that we will be receiving will be on the 25th of this month for the Retail version. For the OEM version, we will received on the 20th. Whatever shipment we receive, we will first fulfill those who had placed a pre-order based on a first come, first served basis.
Could just be a simple mistake. I guess my confusion is that lots of people called them to verify they were in stock. Many people were told "Yes, we have them - they are here, I can see them" or something like that. Doesn't it seem like somewhere, somehow, somebody would notice?Quote:

I don't know, it just seems really strange. I can understand it happening with some random and unpopular item, but for such a big mistake to be made on parts that are the most talked about item around, for which they had to have been getting countless calls/e-mails just seems like a pretty big mistake.
Newegg has dropped their Intel EE's......

Is it just me or are we seeing a high influx of OEM chips. I think Intel is on to us (i.e. no more 3 year warranty). PEOPLE, MICROCENTER HAS E6600 OEM FOR $359.99, get your orders in.
Edit: OT - I wonder which thread has the most replies.....LOL
I think there is a high number of OEM chips because that is what Intel has been stocking up on to ship to the major OEM's like Dell and HP although the only difference is a box and stock heatsink/fan assembly so i don't know why they can't ramp production of their little boxes and cheap heatsink/fans lol.Quote:

She told me that that after their first 5 chips they're not expecting any more until the 18th.
I guess I have to hold off on ordering from anyone else til I see how this plays out.
I finally heard from ClubIT. They made me the same offer. Even though $329 for an OEM 6600 is about as good as one will get now, I refused, as I just don't want to do business with them. I must admit, that if I had a motherboard in my posession with an empty CPU socket, my decision may have been different, but for now I can wait. I'll pick up a PSU and case instead, and get my CPU later.Quote:

Microcenter is backordered. I ordered at noon PST yesterday and have just recieved a backorder notice. I have seen others who ordered as early as 7am pst yesterday recieve a similar notice so I wouldn't hold out much hope for getting a chip from microcenter online.

im still looking for an e6600 and p5w, tiger told me they expect the chip in friday so that means next week for that, and I have no idea when the one place will get my mobo either, any places that sell p5w for a good price and is in stock?

I have found myself checking xtremesystems.org forums almost constantly the last couple of days. This processor rollout is quality entertainment!

So 420$+(No tax)+20$= 440$, I can live with that.
Plus, Fry's isn't so close, and I bought some other stuff I needed and the shipping stayed the same, so meh.
Just called Steve at microcenter, same guy who I placed the phone order with yesterday around 5pm EST and he told me that the orders are being filled in the order which they are received and it is still showing good availibility for the E6600. Dono if he really checked much, but I pray I don't wait 2 more days and find out that my order will be delayed
well i may have a nice surprise for me, supposedly my GM @ CompUSA can order one for me from a distributor and have it next dayed on the companies tab... we'll see if thats true and i may have found something locally... for the motherboard...
e6600 are still instock @ my local microcenter...

Their website currently shows that they are backordered until 8/31

ScrewEgg has the E6300 for $229 now, still not that good, but the the E6400 is still 299..

I have a my scythe mine ready to go no need for a retail OEM here I come!
Just gave microcenter a call to make sure they can fulfill my order and according to them they have enough e6600's in transit to fulfill all existing orders. If you want an e6600 this week, I think they're probably you're only option at this point (and overnight is only 12 dollars).
For Microcenter, I am getting more and more dissapointed and getting my hopes down.

Also called mwave.com again she said they have 10 E6600's backordered and "should get 20 on Thursday" at $429.99, but I would take that for a grain of salt, they already missed my last order on the E6600.
Ugh, the E6300 is looking more and more attractive.
Yeah I just called also and they said they have some "in the warehouse" however they do not know how many they have.Quote:

I just picked my E6600 B2 OEM from MicroCenter on my way home from work. Here's a pic.

It has those marks on it.. I've seen bunches of brand new Conroes with those marks (The scuffs..)
Anyone know the deal?
Just ordered a E6400 Retail at ewiz for 2 day air. The E6600 Retails are not impressing me, and the E6400 uses much less Vcore to get the same OC. I'm gonna wait until there's a new stepping before I buy anything else.
I like how on Microcenter's webpage it says that the 'Core 2 Duo is 100% available *' then for the * 'While supplies last'
http://www.microcenter.com/
Um, yeah, that just looks like the most moronic advertisement i've seen.
Hey guys they are available while they are available!
I called and the guy said the E6600 is backordered and supposed to be in next week.Quote:

Well, I guess everyone pretty much has already chimed in about this.
I preordered the retail one instead of an OEM one at Tiger Direct for a little less money. They swore up and down they had em in stock, and were just waiting to release them.
I called several times, and they even said, we've heard other people are shipping, so as soon as we can confirm it, we'll ship too.
I call on Friday, and they said, they might be able to ship Friday, or maybe Saturday, but at the latest, Monday (the 7th) because that was when they were allowed to ship.
I called on MONDAY, and a guy named Fernando said, "It's shipping today for sure. You'll have it tomorrow."
5pm rolls around-- I call to confirm it's shipped.
I get this whole freakin' schpiel about how they don't expect retail E6600's until mid august. I am furious, I ask how they could have claimed to have had them in stock all along. The CSR (Chu) tells me that they just arrived today, and they turned out to be OEM.
Huh? Excuse me? Just arrived today? What about the big message on their site that said they were in stock, and they were ONLY going to sell what they had already in stock, and they were just waiting for the 7th to roll around.
"Oh yeah, sorry about that. We meant that they were allocated for us."
Apparently, based on my tenuous grasp of the English language, I did not realize that "We have them in stock" means "Intel said they'd ship us some, honest!"
So I get the "We'll knock 10 bucks off and send you an OEM version." I told him I'd call him back in the morning. I spent the entire night looking for a better, or even similar deal, or any excuse to cancel the order. Unfortunately, no one can ship me an E6600 version, retail, or OEM for delivery tomorrow for anywhere close to $329.
So I called up this morning and accepted their offer, though it made me sick to do it.
This was my first time doing business with ClubIT. They will never ever get my business again, and I will mention this episode to anyone who asks or mentions buying anything on preorder from ClubIT.
I hope the sale was worth the bad press for them.
I could have had the OEM chip from TigerDirect for more than a week now. That's what's really irritating to me.
Live and learn.
ClubIT :slapass:
what will really suck is if the chip only does 3.2ghz... heh
Now thats hitting below the belt! :slap:Quote:

the OEM one from my local micro center may have to do ... 408 out the door... for OEM>.. sheesh...
*Patience is a virtue* *Patience is a virtue* *Patience is a virtue* *Patience is a virtue*
Keep thinking that..... about all i can do
Ingram Micro has an ETA of the 14th just so everyone knows whoever is getting a distribution from there will not have it until atleast that date... they have about 1200 on order.
all ihave to say is im finally feeling like the 805D holdover was a good idea
Well drew, youre lucky you dont have some lame Celeron holding you over. I cant even do decent DC crunching OR video encoding.
I have a :banana::banana::banana:y celeron holdover... I cant take it anymore!!!! amazing just how slow these chips are. I am getting my 6400 tomorrow from tankguys - hopefully it does over 3.2ghz :)
whoa you dont need to give me the lame OC lecture... im down to 3.3ghz now. i swear this stock fan is giving me problems even on stock voltage trying to OC. i was at 3.8 with water on my SECOND BOOT... 1.4v. never went higher, though i know i could have. now im wrestling for 3.5...
actually downs my FPS in CSS when im playing with over 30 people. turning AA and AF off helped, but im still hovering around 40fps at some parts. refuse to turn the resolution down from 1920x1200 though.
lkraven, I ordered an e6600 on the 3oth of July, still dont have one and they expect them in next week....
i too ordere a 6400 from them yesterday, i havent receive any confirmation emails, is this how they operate? nvm it shipped already, i kept the free shipping and wont be here till the 14 :( makes sense CA-FlQuote:

A great price... comparitively... and if they had it in stock, but if they wont have stock for 2 more weeks as i've heard, this will be a really horrible price then :P
Guess I was fortunate. I ordered an E6700 from ClubIT on 8/5/06 after receiving a notice from ShopBLT stating that the ETA on their shipment had changed from 8/7/06 to "throughout August."Quote:

As for the problem with listing the retail versions as being "in stock;" the explanation given to customers was that ClubIT received their initial Conroe shipment from Intel but never actually opened the shipping box when it first arrived. They assumed that they had received their entire order from Intel (i.e., OEM & Retail) until they opened the shipping box and realized it was OEM only. Supposedly, they updated the website as soon as they discovered the problem. While I'm sure it may appear suspicious, I don't think they were internationally shooting for a "Bait & Switch." As someone else pointed out, they could've easily (and ultimately did) sell out of the OEM version of the E6700. I don't see that they'd have much to gain from pulling a bait and switch; other than creating a bunch of pissed off customers.
Spoke to Fernando at ClubIT a couple hours ago but didn't get a whole lot. I came in from the perspective of "can I still get an oem processor anytime soon or are you really totally sold out?"
He assured me they were sold out and don't expect another shipment of OEM or Retail cpus for a couple weeks but said that the website is close to realtime and checking it would be a very accurate bet.
Screweggg just dropped the price for the 6300

i want to see 199!!
My E6600 from ClubIT is finally on the truck!!
Yes, I'm annoyed that they screwed up their inventory and didn't have the Retail versions as they indicated.
However I do feel their damage control was appropriate. ($10 off, OEM substitution, and expedited shipping).
They could have delayed all our Retail orders until they had Retail inventory which could have been several more weeks. However they offered us their precious stash of OEM E6600's for $329 which they could have easily sold for around $400+ in the current market. (Screwegg is at $459 and XPCGEAR is at $419 down from $499!!).
