are you refering to what it did to the white feathers on his side that is facing the camera?
if so i know what that is i just cant think of what its called and its not normal at all, its like blown out highlights or something accept it does it with certain color areas that might be a bit darker, could be iso related. or contrast related.
and to be honest i thought that was iso-1600 or something, thats only ISO400 ? eek,, wow.... another reason why I wasnt a fan of my 7D, its iso performance was just retarded and almost worthless.
Contax Zeiss 85mm f/1.4. Half the price of the Zeiss 85mm f/1.4 ZE and the only negative of the Contax version is it doesn't handle flare as well.

ya, only 400.. with the latest firmware update which is suppose to make ISO even better..
i like the effect of this but still.. i don't want this to happen most of the time.
could have been that the sun had already set too, light was very low.
no the firmware wasnt supposed to make iso better (i have not read anything anywhere that made claims of better iso performance), the firmware was only supposed to fix banding under still images during video mode under rare circumstances.
there was never any mentioning of better iso performance.

ohh Sam i didnt know you could use T mounts with the 5D, i thought it would stick in too far and smash your mirror, boy thats gotta be coming dangerously close to the mirror.
