I got alot more testing to do on this CPU.
Here are some more results...stock clocks still...SiSoft testing...

HIS x1900XTX at only 690/800 in ATI CCC
Memory 1:1 @ 3-4-4-8

how much can I expect a 165 to achive with default voltage watercooled? around 2,7-2,8ghz??
It all depends on your stepping really. Some do well some don't do so well.
As seen from the picture, u already tested the cpu (it can be clearly seen the AS5 leftovers in the middle of lid). How high did it score?Quote:

Funny, look at it from here it's "clear" that this thing has never seen thermal. I'd really like you to drive up here and show me exactly where on this CPU I tested that CPU, because it hasn't even been plugged into my system. Trust me, there's no AS5 or any other thermal residue, unless Monarch decided to test it before me.Quote:

tsuehpsyde, that is still advertising. You didnt post a link, but you stated where it was and that it was for sale. That is advertising an ebay auction, which is not allowed as per forum rules. That is also selling/advertising outside of the classifieds section, which is also not allowed.
You may want to re-read the forums policies.

Thanks, and not a problem, I'll take note of that for the next time. You can remove any and all references from the thread if you'd like. :)Quote:

Hi Guys!
next week I will test my new Opteron 170.
Is an CCBWE 0548 XPMW. What could you tell about this step?
As soon as I get it, I will post something of the cpu capacity in oc.
Thanks a lot! :)
P.s.: It will be watercooled... ;)
Sorry, but i realy didnt want to look that u ar liang, i just want to know how good does it clock. Sorry again for this, it was not my purpose to look like that. Hope u sell it goodQuote:

I see that many people are buying the 170 not the 165... is there such an difference in OC between the two??
Actually, i don't think there is so much difference in pure oc between the two... But the 10x multiplier can give you a lot of help. ;)Quote:

This is my opty 165 CCB1E 0608MPMW on very BAD air cooling. :D

Now I'm 100% certain I can easily reach 3ghz if I get it to do less than 50c under full load quite possibly with less than 1.4v, but once it hits 75 degrees I have to terminate prime. Check out my horrible temps, quite unhealthy.

Now One of my cores can already prime for hours at 3ghz and 1.4v while the other craps out when the temps rise beyond 72C.

I was hoping someone could link me to a guide for DC opty/ ballistix 2gig tweaking. I know my ram is very capable, but so far I can only get 285mhz out of it. I'd like to have 2.9ghz cpu/ 290mhz ram.

They're good chips aren't they? Give them proper cooling though, they will thank you for it with bountiful Mhz increases. Also put a fan on your PWM area, and maybe AS5 the chipset. Ideally, everything is under 50c :)
Alright here is what I got...at stock voltage ~v1.4

I left it run while I was at work for over 8 hours...I am very happy. I put a screen of MBM with the high/low temps hit.
Everyone expecting their 165s tommorow from the Monarch Deal, I was reading over at Hard people have been recieving 0551UPMWs. I'm going to be a tad upset if I get another crappy stepping for the third time in a row. I sure as hell hope thats not what I see when I open my package tommorow.
Yeah I ordered this one around the 4th last week, Here's to hoping I'm NOT the last to be blessed by the oc gods with the golden 0608mpmw . :)
I ordered mine last Thursday. They sold out and had to reorder. My order shipped Wednesday of this week. Some people have reported ordering the same time as we did and getting the 0551s. Chances are that since they were out of stock that they ordered new ones and this is what they got. I am willing to bet Im going to be seeing a 0551 tommorow and not a CC1BE 608. Going to be a big disappointment.
If you get a 3Ghz+ golden 0608, and I get a crappy 0551 etc, Ill buy your 165 that does 2.9 off you. I'm tired of playing the steppings game.
I'm so ticked, Absolute0 always orders at the right time, hes gotten both 0550VPMWs and 0608MPMWs from monarch. How the heck? I got an 0551UPMW and an 0543TPMW.
