Yes its enough to install only drivers if you want to update... you even dont need to uninstall old ones first, it will update properly on its own.
at last RF in da houzz, i found a special(cheap) offer for brand new RF, and the early results look very good, with 4x2gb Gskill 8800, at 450-1200-pl6-16kref keeps going at prime blend with 1.25 vnb with these settings, with only exception "DRAM CLK Skew on Channel A" on Auto, when tried delay 50ps got constant bsod at boot up.
btw. 54 celsius during prime blend, (ambient 27) for NB is normal ? or a tad high? ( i was bored to replace the default thermal paste, but seeing these temps i start to reconsider..)

but even with as low as 1.25v the NB gets crazy temps as you can see, and i ve no hope that re-applying new thermal grease will improve this ;/
p.s.> i havent tried yet with lower tRFC as my previous motherboard (X38-DQ6) did like higher tRFC for 4x2gb versus 2x2gb
Papatsoni, you loose tREF in order to go to 600MHz or because of 4 Modules? (have totally forgotten settings - been untouched 2&1/2 years almost ... )
because of 4 modules, i didnt see significant drop in everest mem so i may leave it there. (i may try with 60 later, but i dont think it will be stable) (eitherway ill post here the results)

and all way to 580 i have never tried at 60+, which maybe give me 600
i tried with 55 trfc , in 5-6mins, prime freeze.. with 60 one core failed after 25mins (strange though it was on small FFT (~80k)), i remember now that it might be also a frequency issue along with density, because i foudn some dq6 settings prime blend pass with 1066 ram 52trfc... so definitely as long as freq scales, the trfc needs to be increased (according to that table though, for 1200mhz the minimum trfc for 1gb density (2gbyte per dimm), is 77 )

nice !!m i just installed them, and while everything seems to work... in fact seems to work only in panel... no change in sound output (except volulme..) i messed with equaliser from boundary to boundary conditions, (e.g. 0-500hz from -12db to +12 and no difference at all, same with other optins, EAX effexts , etc), what happens :S?
not sure... im quiet sure it was working fine for me before i uploaded... i even tested them or i wouldnt upload them at all... leo reported not working for him as well... ill try again when i get home on wednesday, but im certain its working... if i rememeber correctly i tryed eax effects and cmss-3d.Quote:

Stock cooling for board megahalems for the CPU, it does 4ghz easy at 1.3v or there abouts, 4.25ghz at 1.35v.
Hello guys. Any news on SLI support for the Rampage Formula? I saw it working in this very thread some time ago and was thinking on building a Geforce 460 SLI setup on my rig. I only saw it built with 9000 series cards, so I wanted to know how the support for 4xx series is.

Kain665, you have to place a fan over the chipset radiator to actively cool the northbridge for 450+ fsb. No need for 8x500. You've better use 8.5x471 with some good memory with the right divider. For 4.25 you'll need 8.5x500 which is possible but won't be easy. To successfully run such high fsb for 24/7 you've better got high wall, low vid CPU and to raise VTT and NB voltages considerably.
im in a similar situation this time, i got a rf a week ago but have terrible temps (its very hot summer here in Greece though), i found a partiall solution by moving the vga to 2nd slot, and attaching a low rpm fan near the nb heatsink, which dropped my temps from 60c (450 1.26vnb - prime blend 1024k) to 51c
Have also the VGA in lowest slot, where tower is more cold. A temperature around 60 with full cpu / memory usage is acceptable, especially in summber
@SoLoR will we have a driver 6020 repacked?
In my system when I move my vga into the second pci-e, stability is worse.
