I agree. The Tone Mapped slash HDR look preserved the softness and is very pleasing to the eye!

my short-lived Nifty Fifty...

i came home to find it in 4 pieces... did not know these were so damn fragile...
ha you drop it?
Thanks! I needed HDR to actually get the shot (no way the relatively dark stump and bright sky would work) and I wanted the cool looking skies HDR normally gives without the terrible over processed look. I was very surprised to see a little golden highlight over the sprout itself! I definitely didn't notice that when I was taking the pictures.
That sucks.... Canon, Nikon, or something else? My tripod fell with and landed lens-first with my 50 but luckily it only bent the front of the tube.
i just came back from a trip to the orient... where i purchased the canon 50mm f/1.8 II new for $86 which is a deal, new cost $90+ here...
anywhoo, i left it on the mantle and when i came home, it was in pieces... i suspect my wife or my daughters...
easily replaceable lens... but sad to see it break so fast...
i'm thinking if i should get another... i like the focal length, even on my crop body... but it's really cheaply built... all plastic and very light...

Wise choice, it's worth being prepared for today's world. The crisis hit the photography industry hard, as has digital cameras in general. You're going to a good school so you'll be optimally prepared.
What I think is the best is that you're doing something you obviously enjoy doing. I'm struggling a little with my interests, I'd much rather be studying graphic arts than business, no matter how prestigious my university may be or whatever or how much money I'm offered when I'm done here. It's good to see people living it out and I mean that in the sincerest way.

I'm still messing with this one but does it look like I'm missing something? Maybe sharper?
