I'm gonna like these E8600 :D
Nevermind.
Didn't think this was possible on AIR. :yepp: My new daily settings with my new E8500.
E8500 - Q814A746 - 4500Mhz @ 1.39v (1.24v FSB VTT)
DFI LP LT X48-T2R
Thermalright Ultra 120A
I know people will start with, Orthos for 5 hours but this is enough for me with those temps. Will never keep it loaded like that in real life anyway.

Yeah, i'm not worried about the temps at all. It will never get that hot in real l ife + it's a lot less then the max ~100C limit shown my Real temp. I put Coretemp in there just to show the VID :)
I just got an E7200 in today and it's VID is 1.1500v and it's batch # is:Q815A358it will run stock steeings on 1v so 2.53ghz in 1.00v heres the SS of the VID
E8500: 4259MHz @ 1.36V
FPO#: Q816A749
Cooling: Water
1h Prime95 Small FFTs is more than enough for me to prove stability.

I'm quite happy with the results.
Could be worse.
just got my intel replacement in and its batch q817a623... anyone played with those yet?? i will not have time till this weekend most likely
man wow that sucks to hear...and crap the prices now are so low on these to sell it sucks to...i hope i have better luck but i doubt it, any links to see the results so i dont have to go through every page here?? are there any good known 817's?
Here's a post on another Q817: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...postcount=3243
I have only seen one report of a Q817, so I bought one hoping for it to be better. No luck though, had to buy a Q815 to replace it.
arghhhhhhh i have no luck, well the box is still sealed so it may be going to ebay since its brand spanking new.. then to try to find a good chip,..i dont know yet ive been without this system for way to long now though for different issues.. getting ridiculous
doubt you have the worst luck. i have had 3 1.225vid E8500's in a row now.
this latest one can do 4.25ghz @ 1.35v though so im not too disappointed.
dont know man it sounds like we may be in the running together.. this is my third e8500 the last was actually no good i had to send it back.. i hope to hear more feedback on the 817 and hope its better than that one was
my E7200 seems to be a good bath, I have hit 3.7ghz on the stock intel cooler with only 1.25v set in bios and 1.20v in cpu-z
did i see right or was that a typo??? E8600????when and where? how much??
ive noticed. everyone with a nice high OC on the E8400/8500. none of you have them on a gigabyte board. or at least i havent seen one..
i have the GA-P35-DS3R. im stable at 4.0ghz with just little voltage increase heck i havent even increased my mem volts any. but i cant get any higher stable...might it be my mem holding me back.crucial ballistix ddr2 800(pc6400)
another question. i see some 5.0ghz OC's very nice. are these OC's running at that everyday? is 4.0ghz good for a everyday 24/7 useage? i have posted some here and am alittle still in the noob section for OC'ing so if i sound dumb asking these questions bare in mind im still learning as i go.....thanks for any info
ooo yaaaaaaaaaaa the E8600 & BlackOps is my next goal
That one is E0 stepping so it's not retail one - they'll come out in August (10th) and will cost 266$. And yes, they are monsters :D
Nobody use 5GHz for 24/7 because nobody need that. 4GHz is not so good for daily use because your CPU will go to one period when it needs more voltage for 4GHz an so on. But a lot of people have 4GHz for 24/7 and it's safe if you need low voltage for hit it (1.25-1.35V).
not retail??? so its not gonna be sold to the public?
to get mine at 4.0ghz i had to set my vcore to 1.3625.
i have it set now at 3.6ghz and have my settings in bios at auto andmy vcore. is like 1.18v its not requireing that much to get anywhere between 3.0/3.6
i dont remember if the 1.3625v would let me be stable at 3.8ghz or not.
so then 1.3625v isnt bad at all for running 4.0ghz.
