sorry guys i can not upload images dono why, can not upload to a album.can some one help please and post their MB back plate images.thanks
Use " Photobucket " xpower . You guys with your 16 phase power to hot put fans to them . Your board came with one fan and purchase another one or of coarse you can liquid cool your board but fans will bring down your temps there .
Watercooling is a great idea, I've got mine R2E on water with Mofset temp in the 30's.
Just testing a little with new drivers for the GPU's and got myself a new highscore in Vantage. Bios 1802.

Well i found out what one of my problems was. Never thought it would be that but i will replace that and move on and see what happens.
And i will tell you this it was my mouse. Seems it was hard locking the usb causing my pc to freeze up. Weird i tell you but i'm not surprised with my luck......
Very nice Vantage Mydog, those cards have some serious power.
Just managed a new PB in 05 with single GTX295. I can't go any higher, the board has run out of BCLK.

Thanks, the cards really rock, did another run last night and got P45446 which got me to 6. place overall on HWBOT and thats on H2O..
Nice OC and score there CryptiK, I belive you can push the BCLK a little more if you bump up the PCIE freq to 103-110. Icould boot inn at 224 bclk with pcie freq at 105. Have you tried to push uncore higher, it will give you a higher score.
6th place on water, nice job.
My run was at PCI-E 106 MHz. It won't post at 221 BCLK at the same settings, and it took vNB 1.35v, whereas 219 BCLK only needs PCI-E 100 MHz and 1.13 vNB.
I can run uncore higher, just playing around a bit at the moment.
Yeah, sadly it seems about the max of these old RIIE's. Yours is a 'good' one. I'd like some more BCLK to play with, I'm waiting to see what the RIIIE turns out like. Ideally, up to 235 - 240 on air would be nice for some SPI32M flexibility.
Cryptic, what kind of gtx 295 are you using (2 pcb or 1)? Watercooled?
It's a single PCB, watercooled.
thinking of rma.what is the beter cooler to buy is CM V8 or TR ultra-120 extreme 1366 RT.i saw v8 does'n look has a better suport for back plate but TR got a strong back plate.urs openion guys.sorry for my bad english.
Ive never used a V8 and I've somehow missed any decent reviews of them, but I've used TRUE's and lapped with decent fans (1200rpm - 1600rpm) they perform very well.
Hi community , im new to this forums, and im also new to overclocking with i7 , i had a 775 platform before and it was totally different to overclock.
I tried to overclock myself , i read almost all pages with the settings of all the people who posted here and i tried to came up with a result and settings i could use on my pc.
First of all i leave my pc STATS :
i7 920 on air , TR Ultra extreme with 2 fans.
RAMPAGE II EXTREME
GSKILL TRIDENT 3x2GB ddr3 2000 mhz trichannel kit
Sapphire HD4890 1GB safe overclock no OV 965/1150 , max overclock with OV 1050/1200
Cooler master RealPowerPro 850w
Cooler master HAF 932 Case
Here are the settings im trying now , i dont know why , but i cant seem to boot into windows even. Meaning that its a totally failure.
"BOOTMGR IMAGE DAMAGED ERROR , SYSTEM CANNOT BOOT" something like that ( i knew it was due the overclock and not my windows damaged , becasue it fixed when i set everything to default again)
That happened with the next settings , ( i tried to lower ram frec to see if my problems were ram.)

May i please have some help :(? sorry i know i suck , its just i cant get it work
Greetings community
First of all thanks very much for the answer,
I have a question which are these two for:?
Hardware prefetcher - [disabled]
Adjacent Cache line prefetcher - [disabled]
And these voltages?
IOH voltage - [1.15v]
IOH PCIE voltage - [1.5v]
ICH voltage- [1.15v]
ICH PCIE voltage - [1.5v]
i know PCIE ones should be ones who control PCIE frec but the others? is it useful to take them in consideration while overclocking?
third and last question
temps on load with linx are in the 70s using a true push pull setup , is that ok?? or i should consider getting something better?

i tested exactly the settings you adviced me , here are the results

I suggest to find a stable setup with the 2 prefetchers ENABLED as you normally lose a 15% of performances with them disabled.
My setup with same frequency get 54 GFlops on Linx.
Replying to your question, the 2 prefetchers load in advance the most used data that flow in the cpu and the result is to speed up the elaboration.
Now I try to make some test with a lower vcore at 4200.
