running
opteron 170 0546xpmw. 1.44v at 2.7 prime stable for about 1 hr. still priming. will update with final pics when i get the highest clockable prime stable thingy below 50C
http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=84038
edit: ignore this... prime crapped out at 30mins
CCB1E 0608 MPMW again
So weird I can get mine to run dual SuperPi 32M as many times as I want, but SP2004 fails in about 6 minutes for core 0. A strong CPU no doubt. This is killing my power supply though.

When did you order it and where from?Quote:

You have the wrong tool. I used to use a Xacto knife and it took 30-45min.Quote:

The paint scraper mimizes the reach of the razor blade. The razor blade is extremely thin and just slips into the rubber. Best tool ever for delidding: like a hot knife in butter.
Gotta to get one.

After removing the IHS:
Good
1. CPU stable 2.9G @ 1.39V - before required 1.44V.
2. Can run 3.0G @ 1.41V - not prime stable
Bad
1. CPU not stable @ 3G no matter what voltage
2. CPU temp may have increased? (AS5 not set yet? Reseat waterblock?)
Going topless seems to be a mixed bag. I was expecting cpu temps to decrease but hasn't happened. Voltage has dropped for the same speed which is very good. Do I need to apply more force on the waterblock?
cjoe
If you are doing the same speeds with less volts, then temps have decreased. The sensor is off. IDK why 3 Ghz doesn't run... what's the memory and LDT multiplier at?
VPMWs runs higher on Ram Dividers the 183 and 166 are not bad.
And play with the Subtimings of the Ram. VPMWs are Primadonnas by the Ram Settings.
Received my CCB1E 0609FPAW today
It's not as good as Gorod's I think :( Temps were incredible high at watercooling so I popped the lid right away :p:
Now dual priming naked @ 3GHz 38°C load @ 1.5V with 2GB's XTC @ 250MHz... So far so good
CCB1E 0609FPAW ..it's nice to see that some newer steppings are doing good as well...then I just might be able to find a replacement if I manage to destroy my chip when I lap it..:D
Nice Chip ChekDisk.
Better than the 0550UPMW a little bit less powerful than the 0550VPMW.
But so far very good.
Little update... Nothing tweaked yet... Just upped volts and primed

I have 170 0550 VPMW batch 136 that will load and run winxp at 2800@default vcore but it needs to use a 100 divider 1:2..anything over and it will not run xp
temps suck on air but this chip will dual prime 95 at 53C small fft and not crash on air..BT
Idle temp is 37C
load temps 2700.. 48C, 2800 50C+
I primed the cpu last as quick for 2.5 hrs on small fft on 3/4 divider for ram at 200..load temps were 52/53C@1.43v bios...@1.4v it does prime core 1 ....memory controller is the issue....I tried 9/10 divivder at 1.43v..runs xp but dies prime right away on core 1
It do load and run xp at 3Ghz on 1.5-1.55v..but no go on prime at all even 1:2 divider..seems memory controller is too stresses as it craps prime right away..so not a temp issue
this VPMW is ok on higher temps...however this may be affecting the memory controller????
the memory controller just can not seem to run 2 gigs
I am going to try 623-1 if its on Tmod bios cd...I was surprised at how much my mobo hates 704-2BTA bios
Does your DFI under report? Like, does 1.35v read as 1.31v?Quote:

It turned out to be a CCB1E 0609FPAW stepping and not the EPAW:D
Right now I`m givin it a burn in at 2.6ghz default vcore under my tdx.
Exactelly the same as me... Only batchnumber differs.Quote:
