I am planning on testing a Zalman 7000cu and the Zalman Resonator with both passive and active cooling.
I could also dig out my Mach1 for some testing ..... I guess (PITA)
Maybe with the Resonator, I can get to 2.7g??
how about starting a thread to get a better picture to see what users get with each model/cooling/voltages
Good idea. An overclocking result / stepping database on Dothans.Quote:

So if I flash a P4P800 with a P4P800 Deluxe bios I will be able to change all options, vcore/divider/fsb/multi ?
i think i have got my 740 stable (passes occt) at 2777 @1.49v (252x11) - zalman 7000 cooled
using a P4C800 (non 'E' ) deluxe - needed soldered volt mod because i could not go over 1.4v even with pin mod.
also tried the bios from an 'E' deluxe gave me opportunity to change multi, but Vcore was still the same.
I also emailed Asus to see when they would bring out a bios to 'officially' support CT479

Thank you for contacting Asus United KingdomTechnical Support.
Due to design differences in the boards it is unlikely that the P4C800 Deluxe will be supported by this product.
Regards
Asus UK Technical Support
which is strange i thought it was only the LAN and RAID what was different
I dont know if someone else has already asked this but...
Why doesnt my P4GD1 and CT-479 with 760 doesnt even post? :(
All powerconnectors are connected. And the MB led is on. And there are no beeps or so to give me some clue what is wrong with that set.
:wth:
update your bios first.
i just updated the latest beta bios of the p4p800 se and i cant change FSB at all. any info that i missed?
It is updatedQuote:

Crappy mem and have 2 find a way 2 raise vcore higher ( something with my mobo... 1.6=1.425... )
did with mine, was a pain, even with wire mod only 1.408Quote:

so far, this is what i've got. cant seem to get anything over 170fsb. no matter what multi, it cant pass 170fsb... which leads to really crappy mem timings
Which motherboard do you use Simply?
I think your chip is holding you back.
You have 400mhz busspeed dothan. I think you push the chip a bit further (I had 2751Mhz with a 1500Mhz dothan in combo i855gmem-lfs)
Have you tried to put the jumpers on the convertor to 533 busspeed?
Simplyadvanced, its known that B1 stepping cpu's dont do high fsb clocks.
If you want 200+ mhz fsb, than you'll need a 533fsb Pentium M.
Of course there are exceptions, but most B1's won't do 170+ mhz fsb

Heya guys, anyone tried booting up with Dothan 730 on P4GD1 on its original bios? I don't have a s478 CPU to use to update the BIOS so I am just wondering if I can at least boot and then upgrade from there....
I think there is no possibilities to do that. There is a reason why you need a bios update for it. So you don't got any friends with s478?
You might pick up a cheap, used Celeron just to boot the board. That's what I had to do when I sold my last P4.Quote:

Would anybody be kind enough as to point me in the right direction to a clear guide that is in english so I can decide whether I want to buy a 7000cu or a 7700cu?
There is a thread here in the intel part which you can find a way how to mount I think both of those zalman heatsinks.
Links are on the frontpage :DQuote:

Good luck on your setup. Remember to post results! :)
Yeah, I just need to recieve it first ;) My P4GD1 will be ordered on Monday by my reseller and my adapter + 730 should be on the way to the reseller ;)
Can someone give a picture of the vcore measuring point in P4GD1? pleez.
Im figuring out if theres something wrong with the adapter. <-- got it already
I have tried two days to get even some picture to come to the screen. Its not graphics card related problem because i have tried also with pci card.
heya, the motherboard + adapater + pentium m is with me already ehehehe. i just need more inspiration to put them all together. so anyone hasn't tried it yet? i am afraid to try it since i might fry it :( and RMA here takes a month :(...Quote:

jkidd, i can't access the link...can you post more pictures?
OCZ DDR Booster + P4GD1 3.7V works fine.
those links are links to german websites and one of them are to these forums where it's just a picture...no explanation. i already said that.Quote:

I already have 2 512mb sticks of CH-5 UTT. So all this won't work well? Is this also true for the 865 and 875 boards?Quote:

man.. i really find this 725 dothan weird. prime stable at 164fsb, totally unstable at 169fsb. cant even get screenie at 170fsb.
it seems like there is some hidden lock or something.
no way, it's also the limit of my 2 725 and of dothan 400 in general. On the contrary my last 730 sustain easily 205fsb!
Hi everybody and pvhk in particular (HFR member ?)
I've changed my 740 (212x12) by a 755 :)
I'm lucky with this rig, i can run 182x15 or 172x16 prime stable, just have some problems with these crapy TCCD 227 2.4.3.5 or 215 2.3.2.5 :slapass:
need some BH5 :slobber:
Hi jeanY,
well, a good dothan you have!
i tried to mount my vf7000 earlier on my pm but no much gain vs the stock cooler + sanyo denki fan (from an alpha PAL6035)
http://img284.imageshack.us/img284/5...01801kr.th.jpg
I was wonderign if the problem with my non posting p4gd1 would be bios related. I didnt really get that Bootblock flashing thingy.
If i hotflash P4GD1 bios with P4P800 should i flash that bootblock separately as its explained on the first page?
You will gain a lot of noise with the Zalman 7000 ;)Quote:
