The wise choice would be to keep your board and if and when we have a problem it would be ok to return it for an RMA. Any links to what you mentioned above?Quote:

Of course, I'm going to check how it overclocks anyway before sending it anywhere. Just Angry's suggestion made me think of something.Quote:

Methinks that the best option to have our conscience clear, the best way would be to send dfi nl an email on behalf of us and have them explain themselves.Quote:

I was assured all A00 and upwards boards have the ECR changes, the only issue you have is swap the bios to 125 or later.now it seems the boards in the EU ahve 119 and the boards in the US have 125 already...so this may only effect guys in the EU.
bigtoe, what can effect the boards from EU?
Im ordering SLi-DR from Germany.. I should get it soon next week.
Quick question for those that already have there boards up and running...
I am not using the higher voltages for my TCCD memory, so do I need to plug in the molex and/or 3.5" floppy power source to the board? I didn't see any mention of it in the manual... A quick repsonse would be awesome as I'm finishing up the board installation right now.
Section 2 page 58 of the manual:
Quote:
The 4-pin +12V power connector enables the delivery of more
+12VDC current to the processor’s Voltage Regulator Module
(VRM).
The HDD-type and FDD-type power connectors are additional
power connectors. If you are using two graphics cards, we
recommend that you plug power cables from your power supply
unit into the two 5V/12V power connectors. This will provide more
stability to the entire system. The system board will still work even if
the additional power connectors are not connected.

Good. I guess, further questions can now be delayed until the overclocking and stability of the board has been tested. Let's really hope it will be the same as R.A01 or R.A02 boards :toast:Quote:

Initial impressions so far are:
Power ckt looks really good
Really like where the ATX power connectors are located
Like that they have space between the ram slots (install in 2 & 4)
XP-120 fits great!!!
SATA connectors are at the edge of the board
Heatsinks on mofsets are soldered to the board. No tape!
Very little room between my X850XT PE and the active cooler
The only con I can see right now is those who have 6800 Ultra's in SLi! Very tight. My ATI X850XT PE goes almost to the edge of PCI-e #2.
:toast:
thats what i hope too, mine is A00 as well, do you plan to let run mem on high voltage ? i already post some pages before that one of my BH5 died at 3.4v. hope it was my fault and not the mobo. if you can, please check high voltages on your A00 rev. i'll check my VX when they come from RMA.Quote:

Yes it is.Quote:

no problem man, i got a maxtor dm10 300gb sata as single sata and 2 raptors 74gb connected via raid0, i can clock like hell :DQuote:

Hey guys it seems that my trouble would never end with this board. Now I can only seem to install win x64 and NOTHING else, tried w2k, sp1, sp2, nada, zip, zero. This of course happens when I try to install with my raptor on sata1. I only see the "setup is preparting etc" and then no go.
Are you trying to insall OC'ed? Try to take the clocks back to their nominal values.
I have tried a lot of thing and yes I have reverted to stock clocks for this one, although x64 seem to install without any problems on my solid overclocked system. Only I cannot install anything else!!!Quote:

I know with my NF3 based board i need 2000 SP4 to run the SATA controller in the chipset. I never tried the other SATA controller but i'll asume it has the same issue. What i ended up doing was building an extra 2000SP2 OS on a OLD 2gb EIDE drive that's only for 3Dmark2001.Quote:

btw does the 74gig raptor support NCQ? I think the newegg specs say it does.
Finally my problems were solved with quite a... peculiar way. Enabled RAID in BIOS and let the pc think that I run the hdd in raid.. voila, it's working and I installed xp sp1... I've spend a whole day in trying to understand what was wrong...
and btw the 74G raptor does not support ncq
but it does support tcqQuote:

My board is arriving tonight and I've not yet dealt with another motherboard with as many BIOS options as this has. Does anyone have a good recommendation on where to find detailed info on all the options this board has and, if possible, recommendations on the settings?
For instance, I'm going to be running Brainpower TCCD and assume I'll end up around 2/3/3/7/1T, but there's quite a few other memory settings in the BIOS also which I wouldn't know how to set.
I'm trying to get my BIOS layout prepared in advance as much as possible to get things going right away when I get home from work.
What are the steps to do a windows XP safe install? all updated, maybe:
- Install windwos xp sp2
- Install mobo drivers, graphic card drivers, mroe drivers..
- Install antivirus (norton) and firewall (zonealarm).
- Config Internet connection drivers related
- Windows update
- Install programs, tweak xp, and security copy..
Am I missing something important?
These should be hitting the market fairly soon - I HOPE! Dunno' if they have NCQ or if that is default in SATA II?Quote:

I think everything is good but ditch the Norton and ZA and go for BitDefender he does everything and really it's a good AV/FW antiSPAM program, he finds more virus than my NAV2k4 or if you like ZA go for NOD32 for AVQuote:

Maybe I am wrong, but these harddrives doesnt spin fast enough to take advantage of the SATAII. Its like a 4 lane highway with one car.
Indeed. Surely it's not a substitute for 10K rpm, though the performance increase it gives to 7.2K drives is noticeable.Quote:

:D Nice talk here - there's coming one more question up to my mind - the boards I purchased before all were equipped with a driver disk so that there was no problem installing XP older version (contain no SATA driver).
Does the DFI NF4 also comes with a driver disk or do I have to create one by my own using the DFI drivers?
:toast:
i have a driver disc inside my box
My Ultra-D arrived today :)
It is revision A02 :)
But I have to go to work now and interview potential University Undergraduates
HCC- I will do some measurements for a waterblock for the chipset. There is not much room! Block will only be be able to be 12mm thick max by the look of it
:D THX mate - these are good news........... :toast:Quote:

I'm working on OCing my system (3000+, PDP XBL 1GB, DFI NF4 Ultra-D) and all the BIOS options threw me for a loop initially. I've found most of them explained on a few other sites, but I can't find any info on LDT Voltage Control. Could someone explain guidelines for setting this?
Also, if anyone that's achieved their max OCs would be willing to post screens of their BIOS settings (cause it's a hell of a lot to type out), that'd be really helpful. If someone is willing to do this, but doesn't have a way to get a screen of them, I'll gladly type up all the options and you can just fill in the blanks. Thanks!
real good idea...i will be getting my ultra this week but wont have anything else till next week, need to order it all. :) want to see uber leet oc's ;D
Did anyone try this board with CH-5 ramm, do the deviders work with it?
well my sli-dr just came in, but I don't have a pci-e video card. thought I had 2 more day's till the board came in.
My 3 year old summed up first thoughts on this board
"Wow, Daddy, that's a cool motherboard!" :)
I got rev A1. Hope that won't be a problem.
:D Nice kids this generation, will become great overclocker when grown up...... :toast:Quote:

Does OCZ DDR BOOSTER work with this board if I switch VDIMM jumper to +3.3V line
:D Interesting question but what advantage do You see compared to swich the jumper and go for 4V ???Quote:
