any other advice?
thanks!
My Kingston HyperX PC3500 is using CH-5 chips.... whats the best I can get out of them, and at what voltage?
Im at 11,3,2,2.0 cpu enabled 223Mhz @ 3.01v vddr.
Also, with volt modding the vDDR... anyone found the place for vmodding the vddq and vref voltages for the dimms?
I have read people mentioning thier rams getting hot... if you up the vDDR and leave the vREF and vDDQ stock....this will lead to self-heating within the ram chips due to the extra voltage difference internally.
Just as example... proper setting would be vDDR 3.2v, vDDQ 3.0v and vREF 1.5v, based on the supply specs for most of the ddr manufacturers. Goose-ing the 3.3V rail actually impacts all 3, while the vmod only impacts vDDR.
Just curious.
who told you that? the dimms generate their own vref afaik from the vdimm they get.
koensa, the 11 multiplier will give you higher bandwidth scores, believe me.
you mean the 11 of the rap settings?
we'l i already am using that (as u can see on pic)
will more bandwith also mean beter superpi?:d
so u adice 11*223 (2-2-2-11) in stead of 11.5*223(2-2-2-11)
Im looking at the DDR dimm module spec right now as I type.
Pin 1, front.. VREF, pin 7 front VDD, pin 15 front VDDQ....etc.
So where is this onboard vREF/vDDQ powersupply on the DDR sticks?
Who told me... Mr Fking Samsung told me.
koensa, no i mean the 11 multiplier.
uwackme, wth is your problem???
easy now guys... lets not get all up in a fight over some few issues...
have a beer..
:toast:
Hy i'm also buying new DDR memory sticks. Now i have ddr 333 Mhz:mad: . I'm now looking for 2×256MB PC3500 or 3700 ram's. Which is better Twinmos Twister or Kingston HyperX. Twinmos is cheaper it's cost $105 (256MB PC 3500 two stricks $210 §§§§ing prices) Cordsair memory is to expencive here in EU. Maybe is better 2×512???
Yeah. It will.Quote:

I did superpi at 9,5x248MHz (=2360MHz) dc 2,0-2-2-11 and got 40s at 1M calc... My friend got 40s too at 11x232 I think, but maybe it's also because of he's using tbred and me barton ;)
Which memory is Better => Twinmos Twister PC3500, Corsair XMS 3500 or OCZ EL 3500?
I have Twister 3700 at the moment and they are running at 232MHz with 2.0-2-4-7 timing and 2.8Vmem. But I heard that Twister 3500 doesen't overclock as good as 3700. So I sugest you to go for Corsair.Quote:

Hy TribesMan:D Corsairs PC 3700 have the same IC's as Transcend PC 3200 (Big price difference:D ). Ram chips are Samsung TCCC and they's can overclock up to 250 MHZ or more. Read this review @ TweakTown
hehe my 1st post here

Dual channel with 2 x 256 Twinmos 3700 with d10 bios
:D
Wow :o. Great score and overclocks. Twinmos rox! My next memory is twinmos ;). What kind of mem do you have? Twister or basic twinmos?
thanks :)Quote:

the twinmos 3700 is the normal ones with the TMD chips
Tho I have a twister 3200 which goes only till 225 with 2.5-3-3 timings anything higher would have to be 2.5-3-4
mars, what mods did you do to get your board up till 250?
Btw, nice clockspeed! :toast:
i got the vdd mod doneQuote:

vdd @ 1.9v
with a lapped amd hsf on the nb
:)
You got lucky with your mobo i guess. :thumbsup:Quote:

Can't you tighten up your timings a tad more, i had my TwinMos PC3700 running 11-3-2 Cas2.0 @ 242MHz and only 3.0V
This will yield a bit better bandwidthtest result.
How much do you feed your PC 3700?
uhh one more thing, theres a 7000 rpm fan on that hsf on my NB :D which is on full for benchmarkingQuote:

i fed my 3700 2.9v@2.94v in winbond (i seriously doubt its accuracy, it should be higher)
but no i wasnt able to get to windows using 11-3-2-2@250
Il probably attempt it again once i get the vdimm modd done :)
How come there isn't a Springdale/Canterwood official bandwidth thread? A64?
Yeah, i think if you raise Vdimm up to 3.1V you should be able to tighten your timings a bit.Quote:

Unfortunately RAS to CAS delay has got to be set to 3 with this TwinMos pc 3700, when set to 2 it's a no-go.
It would be real nice to see 250 DC with tight timings and CPU interface enabled.
You'll be lookin at some 3800+ bandwidth! :slobber:
Good luck with the Vdimm mod. ;)

That is probably cause none ever started one.
This thread is started almost a year ago and is still fun to read from page one.
Mainly because what we are doing now with these NF7 boards was done almost a year ago by ppl like Opp and the likes.
Maybe you should start a Springdale/Canterwood bandwidth thread. ;)
Because I haven't posted in ages :P ROFL!Quote:
