Well since I am thinking about different project at the moment, it is important that I make kits that would work well. (Dremel is not an option sometimes)
Here is quick proto of 5.25" bay fit in.
I am pondering about snap in mount cut out for controller or attach it from behind for clean look...
that would be awesome, especially if you sell them, people that want to try building their own in-case phase systems could really use that
Nice idea Jin - maybe you can make some plexi fillers for different types of controllers for the cooler cases. :down:

This is old repair from Golden Froster... which customer had numerous problems with... to my new method of controlling. Danger30Q this is how it looks.
With case closed, I am sure it will look darker inside :)
Kind of funny how I finally got my laser cutter before things happened and now I finally get to use it for it's effectiveness... Can't say same about the CNC sitting in the corner yet. Once I clean the plate I may have time to get back to that one.
Yes Jin I like it ;) The red display looks fine and goes well with the red power switch light. I can see the display through the plexi really clear. I can't believe your getting -88C on that single stage :eek:

It was old NF9FX unit that came in for leak repair :) Way before time of quad popularity anyways.. :) Was load testing at 250w at that point I think... had to detune a little as I didn't like the pressure on high side.
Man my back hurts a little after moving these. Awkward angle to lift those double boxed box. I am seriously thinking about future shipment in wood box at this point at least for outside. The handle does make it nice to move it around.
That wooden box surely looks sturdy! No postal guy is going to break that.
But does it add a lot of extra costs?

Box doesn't add too much to cost for above sizes. Instpak I use for packing isn't cheap to begin with and I do have to use a lot for double boxing.
Only real cost added to me is making the box time which is added labor. And a little more on shipping cost.
I am using the box ideas for barebone units and soon to come drop in units... (can't figure out fancy name for it... help? :)
Maybe I will just put it as additional option for typical things... who knows... ...
Today morning before load testing/tuning another unit...
Different thermal cut off switch. Easier to put in... some of you might recognize the type from Mach I :)
I have been meaning to make this on CNC, maybe 10 or so to distribute it among some builders... never worked out and I really don't have time/inclination to program CNC at the moment :) Priorities...
Will have to see how this works :)
Barebones in a wodden box
You could always make the boxs coffin shaped and be more fitting with the barebones then.

I always remembered you tuning for 200watts Jinu, whend you move to 250?
Before I left off... not to 250w. 250w always is just test for me to see where the extent of it is :) Typically best temp around 210w or so and a little plus gets you 250w capacity for an hour or so (well at least in my systems).
I did make some units heavily tuned but they tend to suck up too much power -_-;
Well, here is another Vapoli v2000. Actually, it was meant to be a drop in unit I was working on (planning to go that route as modifying case takes way too much time unfortunately and bit nervous job considering cost of the case).
It is cleaner than before with some improvements made. The LED front panel from the drop in unit.
No more high voltage on top section of it... in fact, there isn't much way you can get to it in bottom section either :)
I've made some circuits inside the box to do following in conjunction with the LED controller.
1) Delay when compressor shuts off (currently set at 3 mins). This will keep it safer to play with which is one of primary reason we need controller for.
2) Shut off computer when evap temp reaches beyond what I would consider the limit (-25c) to protect various functions. And it is not done by power button, etc, it will cut off PSU powersuply to make sure.
3) Don't let PSU power in until evap is cold enough to start the system (set at -35c).
One thing I really like doing it this way is...
#1. it's damned reliable haven't had a problem yet :)
#2. it reads excellent temp (k-type). In par with fluke (not as granular but within +/- 1c)
#3. You can turn off computer/restart without having to turn off the phase change unit. We all know how bothersome it can be when overclocking :)
I think this turned out rather clean. Basic plan was to have 18 gauge sheet metal bottom that would just slide in there... which would reduce hefty amount of shipping cost (v2000 is oversize category once double boxed), make it more affordable for some people who might not want all bells and whistles or DIY who likes making their own cases, etc as well as being more versatile... (single platform being able to cater many different need).

Yes, I am getting hang of NEK now. Good thing about the compressor is that it doesn't run hot (yet to see 70c on most tuning I did under extremely prolonged load condition, typically sits around 60c). Bad thing is it's taller than NF9 or NF10 (about same height as NF11FX), can't fit into Vapochill LS, and cuts about half inch of psu space in v2000 situation (still enough to fit most large PSU without issue).
Right now I think my limit lies more on evap than anything else. The condenser is just incredible, compressor is good for high load condition, and seems to be evap just don't like too much heat I would like to subject it to sometimes. I am playing with evap a little more as of now... (sandblasting for few, some changes, etc).
I can't wait to play with Ron's new evap :) That might be the big break I've been looking for.
