Very glad that you get the hope back a bit.

I would suggest trtw and twtr don't get it too tight; play the Tref a bit,
all you can try except all the 3.9 and 7.8 us.
Drving& data , go for 7 or 8 /4 first..ie.
8/4--if no good then 8/3 then 8/2..8/1..8/auto...7/4..7/3...7/2...

it takes time, but it's full of fun.:)

I'm having some weird issues with my setup. my ballistix do not seem to like my combo, but if i set them up with 7/4 drive str/level and 3 3 3 8 with just about everything else auto it will memtest for hours, through all the tests without an error at default 250mhz. but it will crash loading windows. i also tried to reinstall at these setting, and windows came up with a page fault error in non page fault area, or something like that.. I'm gonna continue to play with the drive str/level and tref, ect.. but i am loosing hope. anyone have any suggestions?

Looks like either your CPU or RAM is not stable enough(insufficient volt?)
Can I know your Vdimm and vcore setting and also the 3.3v, 5v, 12v psu rail reading under bios?

so it undervolts ??
for vdimm in the bios .. whatever i set it to .. it shows higher when i look in the bios ..

same goes for vcore .. always shows lower in windows but higher in the bios .. which is more accurate ?

also any word from oskar if u can release the updated bios u and some others are using ?

I've haven't touched my vcore since finding what it takes to get my cpu stable at 2.7ghz. it's at 1.55v; it's been left at this setting even though i am only trying to get my cpu and ram 1:1 at 250hmz (2.5ghz cpu). i have the ram at 2.8V. these same sticks went all the way to 300hmz on my dfi nf3 250gb motherboard (when tested individually), and up to 285mhz with both in, running 3 3 3 8 1T, with 2.85V.

according to mbm, my 3.3 = 3.25V, 5 = 4.94V, 12 = 12.21V (i'll look in the bios on my next reboot). with a DMM, the voltages are dead on, and when i had the rdx200, they were pretty much dead on too (in bios and smartguardian). so i don't think there is any issues with my psu.

so far the ballistix don't like my opty 170 or opty 146, on the eXpert. and they didn't like the opty 146 when i had the rdx200. both motherboards like my muskin TCCD, non-brainpower pcb... they clock to 270mhz before they give me issues, but that is normal for non brainpower pcb's with TCCD if you look at the early reviews before the brainpowers became standard. I hope i am not bothering you too much, or side tracking your thread.

Try and figure this out...if I try to run Sandra's CPU and BIOS information module, my entire system just shuts off. Opteron 146/Expert/Clean WinXP Pro SP2 install.

I've read Red Info at the first page, but: If I'll hear this strange noise, what than??? Go back and say "this MoBo will kill my Opty, I wanna another???"
I don't think they'll listen :(

I got that situation before, but not after I disable DEP by setting "noexecute=AlwaysOff" under boot.ini.;)

My board is a eXpert. I just checked the bios voltages; 3.28V, 4.89V, 12.09V. not much i can do about voltages, since they are dead on with a fluke DMM.. i can even take it to work and look at it on an oscilloscope if need be ;)

I also just put 1 stick in dimm slot2 (it wouldn't boot at dimm slot 4 - closest to the cpu). Anyway, it booted into windows at 250mhz, but is not spi32M stable - it ram spi 1M though. i guess i will have to try more when i get home from work. But i still don't understand why MaxT's ballistix work on both his rdx200 and eXpert with just 3 3 3 8 and auto for everything else, all the way to 270mhz. Something just doesn't seem right.

Actually i can do 295FSB at 2.84v on the expert, but my CPUs are holding me back. I tried messing with the data/drive strength settings, and they didn't do anything at all for me. Most of the settings at auto work just fine.

I think this 32m is hard to beat regardless the cpu speed;)..(look at that temp of cpu;), it 's only hyper 6 + heatsink. Columbus is cold today.:))
That's what I can just use lowest volt and reach 260fsb for running 32m and not loosing any timing.;)

Just got my expert and hope to have it up and running soon. I tried to call you Kevin, but you don't like to pick up the phone. I gotta couple of questions for you......So are the temperature readings correct on the board or are they reading lower than they should be? And no MBM5 configs yet? I can't wait to see how this 57 holds up on the Expert! CALL ME......Here's what the cpu was doing last night on my SLI-D :cool:
