Drop the OMEGA drivers and use the hotfix 5.10a from ATIs site.

Hey Ron do you have an XL? Only thing I read was that someone used the regular ATI flash to make an XL backup, but I think they said it was missing something.Quote:

I hate modded drivers..Quote:

Cantankerous - what is you Power Supply??
power supply is in sig. OCZ Powerstream 600W.
The omegas are 5.10a as well so not too sure how they differ from the ATI 5.10a. I just want a new, proper driver set just like the next guy.

Modded drivers just suck stick with the ones from ATI, are you still having issues though?
Hey guys, is 654.75 1.225 core / 756mhz 2.2v mem any good?
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...id=39698&stc=1
The core at that voltage YES! The mem who knows. I'm really starting to wonder if the mem voltage will also help with overall core voltage also since with mine I know I can bump up the core voltage and it scales the mem top clocks very very well.
Whats your I/O voltage?
i/o voltage is the same as my mem. I am not sure if there is any gain or loss there. if I increase the core volts it locks in 3d. i am still experimenting with decreasing the mem voltage. I can keep the i/o at 1.9v and there seems to be no difference. I had the mem at 770 at one point, but it locked on the last test but not a single artifact. no tearing and no snow whatsoever. I have the window open and a zalman 700-CU hs/fan on the card.Quote:

Nice OC Trans am :toast:
I think we need to make a XL overclock sticky with all peeps results.
So we can see what works and what doesn't.
One thing did notice was the that the sweet spot on core volts seems to be 1.225/1.25 area. Mem is a bit more tricky.
BTW I got my FS VF700 :D Looks sweet
cant dump bios with ATI Tool beta .8
anyone got a link to beta 9?
Theres no link yet. U'll need to request it from Wizzard, but he's currently in Hong Kong. He shoud be back on monday.Quote:

I had the same problem :\ Card went RMA. Got artifacts @ stock voltages and Stock speeds in Quake 4.Quote:

maybe this is why ATi claimed that the XL's wouldnt hit high clocks like the XT's would.
Edit - although it seems the XT's have this same problem, only at high voltage. Personnally I think this core is really buggy still or it's a PCB issue. I'm hoping for the latter. Maybe the onboard voltage selection just isn't stable, and the card will require a hard Vcore mod to be able to take volts well.
Anyone find a real vmod for the vcore yet?
Mines starting to like higher voltage. Few tests here and there and its taking higher voltages stable. Like for example my current clock 625/750 @ 1.275/1.95/1.95. 2-3 days before I had this stable I could not reach this clock even with the higher voltages.Quote:

So I guess it will be more trial and error testing.
Hmmm...voltage issues + coldbug...I hope there's a driver in the works....6.0 Cats maybe ?
Perkam
The voltages are sable u used a multy voltage reader ( don't know the exact word ) And is was stable. But somehow the core would lock up.
I don't trust the current drivers and that OC tool anymore. I\m gonna wait for new versions before i will clock higher.
Macci also said that there was some kind of problem that would need a hard mod to get higher voltages. I hope it will be here soon.

As for higher voltages, who knows, but if the board has the same components expecially the power circuity as the XT why wouldn't you beable to up the voltage more? And from pictures at least there identical from what I've been able to tell, unless the XT has higher rated components over there.
Can someone give us a clean picture of the XT power area?
Its the same as with the X850 XT cards. Its @ the back side where the red heatink is. There are the resistors. Can u make a pic ? i don't have my card anymore. so i can't make a picte to poit them out for u guy'sQuote:

I can't check it its right i don't have X1800 any more. i will have a new one tomorrow ( If i'm lucky ).
