Well folks i got my C3D GTO yesterday and unlocked to 16pipes and clocks 580/575 and got this score :woot: (no Artifacts)

7145p 3dmark05 Thats good i think. But the tricky part is that if i go over 580mhz on the core i get a black screen. My monitor switch to standby.

Annoying. Vmod is coming.

If anyone know why i get blackscreeens pleeezz tell me :P :banana:

am I the only one using a X850XT PE bios ? (maybe I could get better clock witu the modded 16p gto2 bios?)
with the vmod I got 615/625 for a first 3dmark2001 run...still testing
more to come later :)

I don't think so.. You should keep the X850 XT PE bios since it has better timings that let you have a better score at 3dmark.. :)

Nice score, I love this forum everyone is talking about/doing v-mods here, on my dutch forum there afraid to remove the stock cooler and to lose there warranty :slapass:

No.
Gto is faster, but 6600gt is pretier (smartshder3, hdr)

Here are my results from a little casual 3D today, I've been mostly benching SuperPi but I thought I'd test this new GTO2 out.

Stock unmodded card results with 12 pipes and then flashed to 16 pipes. No gpu mem timing tweaks. Results are pretty good for air but I think I'll sell this and wait for the x1800xt :)

Sapphire X800 GTO2 for $230 or Connect 3D GTO for $190?

How is the air cooling? Is it LOUD?

It looks like he was using this bios x800GTO2 @16p @ 400/490 (=stock speed)

I'm using it too, firstly i installed the gto2 modded bios, then i tried the sapphire x850xt pe bios and it worked fine, i think it can OC higher also! :eek: Maybe it was due to other reason but i could raise 5mhz core and 5mhz more to the memory.. Also i don't need the atitool installed to get higher freqs than stock... :p: ( tried to mod the gto2 bios changing his freqs but the bios editor got freeze when opening the bios file, not with older bios's )

BTW i can 3dmark @615/630 and 620/635 after changing bios.

Yes used the gto2 stock clocks wit 16 pipes bios. Those scores are with NO memory timing tweaks.

I didn't fine the card that loud and I was benching caseless ;)

I would get the gto2 without a doubt over the gto... there's no guarantee to flash the gto to 16 pipes while the gto2 is pretty much guaranteed from what I've seen.

i dont see anywhere in that whole article that states the fireblade is 480 core you may get very lucky, but if they were 480 core the prices would have shot up just like the gto2

I have replaced the Stock-Cooler with VF700-Cu:

Stock:
IDLE - 36Â°C
LOAD - 69Â°C

VF700-Cu:
IDLE - 33Â°C
LOAD - 59Â°C

I don't know what's wrong but I gained 2 points from 565/600 to 620/630 :stick: maybe I need a fresh xp install :(
