Problem is...the card that will end up the as the miracle will be in VERY low quantities...but everything else should be in order.
With reports of them stockpiling nex gen mainstream cards, they'll be looking to restart as much business as the water that falls off the niagara falls...and in a couple of days too....in order to catch up to Nv.

Oct 5th is ATi's next shareholder conference. It would be logical to have the NDA expire a few days before to boost stock.Quote:

I'm sure alot of gamers don't give a damn about that table :p: :DQuote:

That's really too bad you think that, Tim. If you really are a gamer you should care very much. That table has much more meaning that you realize. You see that dual-link DVI listed at the bottom?Quote:

Sooo, you don't think playing with multiple video cards at 2048x1536 resolution and 85Hz is important for a gamer?Quote:

Didn't you read at all? Cross-Fire won't even scale that high. It's not the link that hurts it, it's the composite chip! They could have all the dual-link dvi ports they want, but that chip limits it to a measley 1600x1200 at 60hz, and 52 hz above that... Infact, Cross-Fire won't even HIT 2048x1536!
So yes, that table means literally nothing to us gamers.
Ehh...it will ;)
ahh, the value of actually reading links that ppl post. :)Quote:

That "Competitive Comparison Table" you got is pointless for me. Im tired of ATI and their Paper launches. Who knows which one of those "check marks" will actually be on the Avivo. We will see when it comes out.
I wouldn't be surprised if ATI fans have waited long enough to be nauseated by the entire situation, though I hope their pricing, performance and availability can compensate for that wait - something that wouldn't be easily to pull off in the short run.

^ agreed. I'm certainly not an ATi fanboy, but I generally do prefer ATi products over nVidia. However, its fairly obvious that nVidia is winning this round, mostly because its the only one in the ring. Whenever I do get around to buying a new GFX, I may just go with nvidia b/c they were able to put out a really nice product, on-time, and en masse. I have no doubt that the R520 will be an excellent card, but ATi should know that they cant delay a card forever and expectg every last person to be cool with it.
The best way to express our dissatisfaction is with our pocketbooks. Now with that said, I hope they come back in the next generation of cards to give us something incredible. And heck, I'd be ahppy to buy it.
When it comes right down to it, performance is performance, whether it be red or green.
ok, ill get off of it now. :soap:
I am still amazed at the lack of info the "technically-minded" people have over here at XtremeSystems. You'd think they'd pick up on the importance of what I give out due to them knowing everything about squeezing out computer performance, but......
I even let you guys 'into the know' before ATi officially released Avivo by posting that slide up for y'all.
Like I said, sometimes I feel like I have to hit everyone over the head with a club/frying pan to get them to understand the relevance. :stick:

He was merely complaining, Revv23, and there isnt anything wrong with that...but lets not flame-bait eh ? ;)Quote:
sorry i didnt pour over that useless graph for more then a glance. grow up, you arent that important.
Karma, the feature list on that table may be ignored because many of those features are on the 5xx line and therefore their usefullness has yet to be seen...and think how many ppl care about the features of the 7800GTX...not many, hence the lack of interest.
Though I'd recommend PM'ing turtle, a member who'd be delighted to look at the table and has shown his technical expertise and ability to make constructive conclusions more than once :)
