wow, was looking other dual core opty results and found that mine have a pretty high tmaxcase , 53C , guys please report yours!!!

Actually that is relatively low. How does it overclock?Quote:

Just for interest sake, as I do not believe there to be a correlation between Tcase and TDP.

No support for mutli acpi tweaks ;)
what do u mean?Quote:

I posted on the bug forum, not really significant, just something you might want to be aware of :toast:
not for dual-core... its normal about 49c for dual core opterons.Quote:

Is this any good... my Opteron 148 was rated at 63C....

Actually 49C is a value that AMD has said to not use. I'm not sure what this means, I'm pretty sure that most of those Opties are not 35W chips...Quote:

That's a bit on the lower side of things but I'm sure it will be good enough.
Given the fact it's 8C lower... I'm a lot less tempted to OC this one to it's limits while being on air.. :(

So 35w means it will not oc?
No, I'm just saying its unlikely that all these chips are 49C TCM/35W TDP...

Much lower than my 146 that has 65C and 67 Watts... :(
Ahwell atleast she does 2.7GHz on 1.45V!
I had really high expectations of this chip because my 146 does 2.92GHz on 1.40V. LOL guess it was my fault for overestimating it! :slap:
Here is mine

Can only get to about 240htt x 9 (2160mhz) @ 1.45v
My motherboard has a MAXVid bug. It won't give the vcore anymore than 1.45v and it's not all that stable at that.
Sacificed for Xmas (Ebay beware)
On the positive side My new Opteron 144 (CABNE) should be here about 19.30 gmt today !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the temp and wattage look promising! :)
That is very odd. The 146 Opteron has 'D' Thermal Profile, in which the highest TCM/TDP is 65C/67W. Now in your case for some unknwon reason your chip is showing a TCM which is no included in the thermal profile. That is why you see TDP 0.0, and the TDP field is grayed out.Quote:

Update:
Version 1.15
49C TCaseMax is not used anymore, this means that for any CPU which returns 49C TCM (like the new Dual Core Opterons), the program will report "This CPU does not support TCaseMax feature."
Extended the 'D' Thermal Profile, as some chips using this profile have reported higher TCMs than the highest TCM specified in the profile.
yeah my Opteron 165 is a 49-er and i get that "This CPU does not...." messageQuote:

Not really, but its probably more than the 110W Max AMD has rated them at
why do you say thatQuote:

The highest TCM that can ever be reported is 79C because of hardware limitation.
The way that TCM works is this. There is a 4 bit field which contains the TCM value, you take that value, multiply by 2 and add 49 to the result.
In other words: (TCMField * 2) + 49 = Actual TCM in Celcius.
All mobile CPUs return TCM of 49C or "TCMField " of 0, because their actual TCM is too high to be programed into the processor. AMD also states that 49C TCM is "Not Used".
Now different CPUs have different thermal profiles by which we determine the TDP, depending on the TCM reading.
There are two possibilities here:
a) The 49C chips we've been seeing lately are actually 49C/35W chips.
b) These 49C chips have a TCM higher than the highest TDP value in a certain thermal profile, and thus this field in the CPU is just programmed with '0' instead to return no TDP at all.
