Hi ppl. Nice work from all of you.
any thought on the (dn) Bios rev. for the KD7-E
I'm pretty happy with my kd7-e. But still need to get better cooling
and better RAM to max my system out.
Now my question:
Anyone has an opinion on what Bios rev. is the best?
The new (dn) or the sticky (c8)? I'm using dn lateley. It has the HALT command register set already in the bios. Is that an advantage at all? Is there any drawback in that rev?
Thanks guys. keep up the good work!!!
Holy thread revival...
Ok, so how well does this board do with the new 2500 Barton? Does it allow for the upper multipliers?
Just ordered a 2500 from Newegg.
Al
you can set the multipliers up to 22.5x
I still prefer the C8 BIOS. If you want to run Barton, you'll want to flash to the DN.
Great board! Although no longer my day to day board, the KD7-E still runs 24/7 in my home LAN in my server. It's a true rock.
thanks mad zippa ;)
anyone else?
i'm using (dn) right now but i'll give (c8) a shot soon, since i'm pretty hapy with my tbred 1700+ and dont plan to change it for a long time. (i'm also on a budget :D)
What's the big deal of this c8 bios to be real?
and about the HALT register set by default with the (dn).
I ask this cuz i like softcooling. At least till i get a better coolling solution for me.
any suggestions? here in Brazil i couldn find yet the Thermalrights, only the Volcanos
thanks
Thanks for the replies. I switched to "DN" a while back. No known problems.
Al
Has the "DN" bios given you any benefits?
Wondering If I should switch, using C8, tbred B 2100+ @ 2200 mhz (11x200).
No know benefits over the c8, except for adding the Barton CPU. It was the only reason I upgraded.
I'm at 185x11.5, 1.9v, 2127.5, running prime95. No failures.
