Unfortunately too far with our current setup. I should receive Athlon 64 X2 CPU tomorrow or friday so we'll see if it performs better than FX-55 in 3DMark05.

If 2001 was dual threaded then that would be it, but as it is not then my bets are that it will get nowhere near an FX-55, with x2 you're just heating up a redundant core for nothing .....

Nice chip though, very interested to see how it clocks. Good that a good overclocker gets this rather than the normal websites :)

I wonder if 3dmark06 will be multithreaded ? If 2001 gets shuffled off then you will need FX-55 for 03 and 05 and AMDx2 ( or Intel 8XX Extreme ? ) for 06. And SLI or AMR. The thing that springs instantly to mind is

The thing with these dual cores is you will have to be twice as lucky to get a " good chip ", even if one core is golden the other might be a complete dog and hold you back. The top overclockers will be going through video cards and cpus at a good rate of knots to get 4 good items. Patience and frustration spring to mind.

Is there even an quad board that does sli? Actually, you'd be able to do quad with a dual socket, dual core setup on a board like the Tyan k8we :slobber:

I still have to get a second Cascade before I can play SLI. But in the mean time I've been playing with single 6800 Ultra.

May, 15th: breaking 20K 3d03 with singlecard
May, 20th: breaking 46K 3d01 with SLI
