if it works for the p4c800 I see no reason why it wouldn't work for the p4c800 dlx...

ok thanks I think i will buy the adapter and flash my p4c800 deluxe. I have one more question...since I just have the board but no s478 cpu is it possible to flash it without the cpu?

How did you mount your vapochill to the cpu? Could you please post some pictures? (i think it is possible with the old S478 kit, but didn't think it was possible with the new S478, S754, S939, S940 kit which is what the XE2 comes with i think).
It's not hard to make a custom mounting plate.
I think the problem is that the CT-479 covers 2 of the motherboard mounting holes.

That is why i think the old S478 vapochill kit will work as it uses the existing mounting bracket, but the new kit uses the motherboard holes.
You can still use the mounting holes, it just takes a little ingenuity:
