Fugger vrs Macci vrs OPPAINTER, Live in Dallas!

Just to clarify on the Dallas event so that everyone knows what's going to happen, as there seems to be some confusion.

There will be atleast three different stations, one for Fugger, one for Macci and one for OPP. Each will be overclocking using their preferred technique. The planned platform will be an RS480 with X850XT PE. The planned board will be Bullhead.

I see people cheering for their favorites and that's okay, but I want to make it clear to everyone that this is a friendly gathering amongst friends and peers and should be labelled more as a demonstration and not really a competition. I am hoping that there will be collaboration amongst the three as opposed to pure competition. We want this to be a learning experience for everyone as much as we want people to have a good time.

I also see a lot of people posting that we might be revealing some new discrete graphics cards at this event. As I mentioned above, everyone will be using X850XT PEs at this event.

Having said all that, don't take this as meaning there aren't many exciting things happening. That's simply not true. ;) If you come to the event, you'll probably hear about (or maybe even see) some things that are not currently known.

One word(maybe more... :D ) : We Overclockers ARE united in such events and I think that you misunderstood our fillings about OUR "kids" OPP - FUGGER - macci .....We are ALL united but we like to compete each other from time to time for our big love : "Overclocking" for fun.........So don't think that this will NOT be a collaboration amongst the three of OUR guys coz they are ALSO friends..... ;) :toast:

If this was Anandtech, then i could understand your point. However, this is the BEST of the BEST when it comes to people, tweaks and down right overclocking. Wanna Be's Exit Left. If youre going to throw these guys a bone, make sure it has meat on it, thats all i gotta say.

I don't view extreme overclocking as a team or collaborative effort. Now, getting tips on overclocking from others is always handy for the less expereienced like myself. However, i am fairly sure that each of these guys already knows absolutely everything there is to know, and then some. As far as three guys standing aorund one machine working on it, I jsut don't see it happening. If one of them finds a tweak with the bullhead board however, then that may be worth sharing, just maybe.

that said, this event is gonna rock! A massive :thumbsup: to ATi for putting on this event. Now make it an annual occurence. ;)

ATI was generous enough to extend and pull off a gathering targeted at us. It is the first of it's kind.

Let it be known, today hell froze over. See second machine in my sig for details. Any predictions on how fast I can get it to go? I am still tweaking the OS and registry and I will ghost it. I have A64 mounting ready to go (most of you guys who purchased Chilly1 blocks have mounts that I made). I will make a perfect mount for bullhead for the show. I believe it will fit PC_ICE's cascade.

Opps knows Texas but Macci is yet to feel the magnatude of Texas. Dallas is the only city I have been to where you take a right at the next intersection you will be heading about 4 degrees of a turn. The interstate you need to be on is the one running parrallel to you for the past 30 miles (you can see it about 200 feet away). In Texas they can fill/will the biggest stadium full of screaming fans and the place will errupt in cheer with bazillion flashes going off when a guys shoves his hands in a bucket and pulls out two fish. Also this time of year in Texas is the brutal humidity.

I will be bringing supplies for condensation proofing for us all. Dry ice and LN2 will be available for the event.

Yea I lived in Texas for 4 years. Married and Divorced in Texas.
Yep, all my Xs live in Texas:D
I was young and lived in Austin in the Mid '80s. I can tell you I had a blast living there:D

Also yes humidity blows in south TX. I live in far WestTex now, and for all that it had it's drawbacks, one thing I *can* say about it is that there is next-to-no humidity, as opposed to Houston where I used to live, humidity was friggin nuts :eek: Even worse than Dallas/Austin.

Man would I love to goto this competition. I've never seen xtreme rigs first hand before. Never seen a cascade, DI, or LN2 cooled computers first hand. Would just be awesome to see them setup everything.
