Nope...I'm referring to the new whql 71.84s. There is no overclocking allowed....officially.

Here's a tid bit from the 71.84 release notes pdf:

GeForce 6 Series, SLI: Overclocking using Coolbits does not work when SLI mode is enabled.

GeForce 6800: The Temperature Settings in the Display Properties reports an approximately 20% higher temperature than with the previous driver version.

GeForce 6 Series, SLI: After exiting a 3D game, the NVIDIA clock frequency remains at the higher 3D-performance frequency instead of reducing to the standard clock frequency.


This explains the temp issues as well.

Anyway, were do you force the overclock? Is it in Rivatuner?

Played with NiBitor's VID mode and reflashed the cards. Gained a little on the core but I'm not sure if its related since I have no idea what I'm doing with the bios editor. Well, better lucky than good! :banana: 12,020 on '05 I know Skyline (and others) will catch me but at least I beat him to 12K. :D

Alright! That's it! The gloves are coming off! And the chiller is going on:D

Time to break out my back up scores and get some new scores going with the GPU chiller! Seems like more folks are jumping into SLI :banana:

Well I found it. It was right there in Rivatuner under Power User Settings. Value of 1 under Disable Internal Clock Test and overclocking is all good:D

Hey I ressemble that comment.. I mean the Blonde thing.. Oh well...Ahhh. :doh:

You guys know about the Coolbits "no test" workaround, right? You can actually skip the test. Select the clocks you want, then select autodetect, then escape out. You can then apply the clocks you selected. Not sure if this would work with 71.84, however. Still waiting on the new Ultra's :(

Hmmmm never thought of that:)

But, using rivatuner to disable the test altogether under the Power User tab is easy as well.

There is also a little known menu that comes up running Coolbits 3D. When installing the app, select the applications profile check, hit apply, then uncheck the box. Now, there is an additional 3D tab that lets you adjust the aperture size and the mipmap level (0-1.3). So far, I have never had to use RivaTuner to get my clocks up on the video cards.

Me either..

i saved my results as a 3dmark project but now i don't know how to open the project in order to register it online. my score was 6908 wich is not bad for 6600gt sli

Hmmm ... I never saved any projects, I just hit the "Online ResultBrowser" button. :)

BTW - 24,733 on 3DMark 2003.

here is my score in 3dmark 05 6848 score

athlon 64 winchester 3500+ 240 x 11 2648 mhz corsair pc3200c2 1:1 2.5 3 3 7 1t cooling zalman 7000cu prolink 6600gt sli

i'll overclock more some other time at least to make again my preview score of 6908 my 6600gt's overclock very poorly,no more then 550 core and 1150 ram and this with artifacts...i added a new fan between the vid cards i'll see if it does anything! this is my pc:D:D

mdzcpa is also running those Asus Ultra cards. No volt mods for either of you and just water cooling and bios tweaks? No wonder Asus can charge a premium for their cream of the crop VPUs. Looks like they have a nice bundle as well.

Yep, these Asus cards do seem to have the creme of the crop GPUs. Awesome cards indeed. In fact, my credit card is still feeling the awesomeness of them:D

EDIT - BTW, speaking of those cards, they will be up for sale shortly and for a VERY good price (as most of my XS Trading sales are:) )

I might take another whirl at getting higher scores before I let them go. I haven't really even pushed for anything more in weeks now so there may be more in the tank with nwer drivers and BIOSes. That and I just got my last peice of kit I needed to finish my chiller for the GPU loop.

BUT, in the end, I want to try something different:D
