i've had ddr booster for a long time now... with my 2 sticks of adata vitests pc4000 (presumably hynix D43)...

i'm trying to tweak it up to reach 100% stability @ 270 2.5-3-3-6 1T... it's mostly bench stable... but it's not 100%, and it's getting annoying...

using k8nsu-939 F4 board dimm slot arrangement... too close to each other... u can't put 2 sticks of ram in slot 1 & 2 if u want the booster in it too... because even in slot 4... the twister knob overlaps into slot 2!!!... so what ya gotta do is put the booster in slot 2, and then move ur ram to slot 3 & 4. then it works fine =)...

as for vdimm.. the first time i used the booster i thought it wasn't working, cos u have to twist the dial past a certain point for it tstart working, so i was rotating it heaps... lol, suddenly the value shot up to 3.8volts for abit, and i was like WAH 1?!?!?... lol... so took it down to 3.1...

it seems fine up to 3.8 i guess... but i don't have ram that can withstand that so i haven't yet tried that for like even a minute or so... i've tried as high as 3.5 for 5 minutes, seemed fine...

as for these bios's... F4 lets me hit 320 on the hTT @ 3x (2x doesn't help). F5 only lets me get to ~266. i'mi talking about 1T here...

i picked up 2 sticks of apacer TCCD DDR500 512mb... with 1T they're really bad
they perform best at around 2.8-2.85v, reach only about 242-245 2.5-3-3-6 1T... but with 2T enabled, it can do up to 285-290 or so with 3-4-4-8!... stil... that's not quite nice, and not better than my adata... so i will try it on another board, since i don't think GB boards are too good with TCCD in general (my xms3200XL from a long time ago was even worse).

should be able to it has a raid driver and software....... However silicon images is a far better raid chip and the nvidia sata ports are in a terrible location.

ive got a DDR booster, a sata raptor and a Tagan 480 psu on the way to push this thing to the extreme! :) it seems like my TCCD likes volts ill let yahs know!

the SIL chip is the way to go with even just 1 sata drive?

yah theres a driver for not running in raid also

Thanks, I got wondows installed now and primed overnight fine at "Top Performance" setting OK. Should I avoid Giga's CD Drivers as some recommend?

Well, I got my DDR Booster today and it worked fine up to 3.7v. The problem is the mobo, I have KHX 3000 BH-5 and the SPD is pc2700. The mobo is like the MSI so far as it will not let me set the DDR to 200. Even if I try, it keeps the divider at 166. I wish I had kept my KHX 3200 right now but the KHX 3000 actually OCed better. Now I am screwed, the booster is worthless to an extent. The board or the CPU doesn't like anything over 285, so with the divider I am only hitting 225MHz with the RAM and that isn't very stable, even with the multi at 8. It's gotta be the mem controller on the cpu. IF I could set the RAM to 200, I'd be good.

OOOhhhh, it just struck me as I am typing this, I can use A64 tweaker to set the RAM to 200 like on the MSI boards (I hope). Be back with some results.

Okay, of course it worked. Running Prime95 now at these settings to test for stability and do a little burn in on the RAM. We'll see what I can pump out of this rig.

Twenty minutes in and the system locked up. I dropped in down to 245 and it has been priming ever since. Looks like I don't have those dream sticks with this BH-5.

my board doesnt like more than 290 currently @ 287 x 9 with ram at 234 2 3 3 3 1t according to sandra.

Still strong after 4 hours of Prime.
I think I will be happier with my TCCD once it gets here. guys at Monarch haven't even shipped it yet and no e-mail saying it's back ordered or anything. I paid for 2 day FedEx and it has been since Wednesday I ordered it and it hasn't even shipped yet. I had a terrible experience with them quite a while ago with a Ti500 I ordered and they were pains in the a$$ about getting me taken care of, took three weeks just for them to agree to RMA the thing even though it was DOA. They kept wanting to transfer me to tech support. After all that I sent it back for a refund and they charged me 15% restock fee. I told them it was BS, I had to order antoher card elsewhere because I was tired of waiting. I never ordered from them until recently, when I got my Winny, now the third order ever from them and they are Effing it up again.

gonna try this out hope it likes my mobo. Since I plan on keeping it and since nf4 seems to like bh5 I'm gonna need some memory anyway since i plan on running my bh5 chips in nf4.

I have a strange problem here.

Motherboard: Gigabyte K8NS Ultra 939
Mem: 2 x 256 MB PC3500 Plat. Ltd. Edtion BH-5.

Everything works great on 2.6v, but when I set vdimm to 2.8v everything becomes unstable even on stock speed, tried bios F4 and F5.

Anyone else had this problem ?

I just built and tested some and now I have problems at stock speed:
My setup:
Gigabyte K8NS-Ultra 1.1
Winchester 3200+
2 x 74G Raptors on NVidia ports 1,2 (near video card)
WD 300 G 30000JB on IDE1
DVD+/-RW 16x|NEC ND-3520A Master, Plextor Plexwriter 12/10/32A Slave
Antec True Control 550W
BFG Geforce 6800 Ultra OC (needs two power connectors)
All accessory slots hooked up.
1G GSkill LA

I have the F5 BIOS and was prime stable (250 MHz bus 2.5-3-3-7) until I sseemed to have some driver conflicts now -- Prime fails at Optimized defaults.
Upgrade the BIOS to F7 or F8?
Try the Sil ports for the Raptors?

Bigger PSU?
Epox Board?

Any tips appreciated. :)

2nd issue.
I discovered that the sata raid driver provided by gigabyte is junk. Using this driver will corrupt and or cause permanent damage to your hard drives. Use the silicon images driver provided by MS in they're auto update section. I have tested it and you lose minimal performance but gain maximum stability.

Example of issue with the gigabyte supplied driver. When running in raid 0 if you run sisoft tuneup wizard you will be given a BSOD right near the end of test.

I also experimented with some third party drivers for nf3. In games it would cause my game to freeze. I am now using a whql certified nvidia driver version 5.10. The driver i tested was a 7.xx series.

Will tackle the ram issue over the weekend with dualsided ddr dimms.

Maybe my "new" instability issue? I will try the nforce 5.10's and the other drivers from Win update site. Also moving the Raptors to the Sil.

Hopefully you didn't cook her? Shunt the CMOS jumpers.

yah it works but i still have same problem with bios that i had before.( when over clocking beyond 245 fsb bios options tend to dissapear.....) Also i might warn u u will lose .5 multis with f8 bios not that they worked for me with f5 though. try the sil raid and MS's drivers for nvidia and sil.
