insane! 500 mhz less than the fx and still so close in scores, looking forward to see you break those 8.5k points.
Its FX55. Wish I had a Winny that runs at 3G (in other words a winny that runs w/ cold temps) - it would be faster than that FX55 clock to clock in this test ;)
@macci hunt is restart ?
whoaaa nice mem clocks :toast:
We may have some pleasing scores in the next few days :D
Here it is my new FX-55, with the MSI K8N Neo2 with no mods at all - just using Bios 1.41 and MSI Core Center to raise de cpu core.
These new TCCD are really great, but very likely we will use the BH-5 to the 3Dmark 2001 run.
Using my old Mach1/404a to cool the CPU..

And this one just for the screen

CPU cascade redone (now Ricky cascade ver 1.2 :D ), GPU cascade redone tomorow I hope ..finally we have a decent X800XT hope can do 800 core (previous never passed 750) :)
If this FX-55 escalate with -100ºc like my previous FX-53WR, I can expect more 400mhz benchable speed (3DMark, pifast etc) and 500mhz or more just the screenie ..
It quite amazing the heat dissipated by the FX-55, I gain almost 100mhz just from the change from a stock Mach2 to a Prometeia with 404a ..so can't wait to see the speed of this babe at -108º C :D
Expect some news in the next few days..
:toast:
wow 3.5GHz 3dmarkable should be worth like 41.5k marks! Gonna be pretty close to OPPs 3.57GHz score id say :toast:
What brand of TCCD you using Pedro?
You dont need more than 3475 too get 41866p :)Quote:

i think i must get that heat spreader of the cpu... Hope it can give me 50-100more mhz?
What doo you guys think? Is it worth the risk of a dead cpu?
how would removing the heatspreader help? It may hurt it cause its suppose to spread the heat away from the die. your 100MHz below OPPs cpu power yet you edge him in the system tests. I guess his win2k3 is hurting him more than I thought there. OPP is still the champ cause of the 340 nature and no one can get within 100MHz of his cpu clocks.
Geforce... 41,5k I did @ 3.383 Mhz and low gpu clocks.... (12,27 Marks per cpu mhz)
Better look over your maths, do you think a cascade only worth 200mhz more in comparison with a Prometeia ? ;)Quote:

Overklokk needs about 3.6GHz cpu power to just barely break 43k. if you disagree, let me know what itll be then ;)
edit: I see people hit ~3.2 on prom, 3.4-3.5 on cascade. maybe youll get a lucky chip and hit 3.6 :slobber: :D If you use more than 2 stage cascade then it could be 3.7
What could be better at spreading/removing heat than copper holding -90c?Quote:

so what was the point of amd using heatspreaders in a64s if they all do better without them and itll save amd a buck per cpu?
it saves AMD money because they dont have to reaplace cracked cpu'sQuote:

With a HS on they dont get as many RMAs (chipped cores) as without, and its much more easy to mount cooling solutions. You dont need the same perfect finish on the bottom of heatsink either, as the area to transfer heat is greater. BUT, with really good cooling the increased thermal resistanse will result in higher temps.Quote:

The more layers of copper and thermal paste, the more thermal resistanse we will get.
LOL!Quote:

The core is pretty fragile and easily cracked in the wrong hands.
Good enough a reason for AMD to put a spreader on.
There is a sticky in the best of AMD about this where ppl gained over 75MHz.
You say not worth it?

**Overklokk** @ Ocshoot.no 42K
:YIPPIE:
Congrats :D
Yeah watch out for the crazy Norway guy!! :D
