Yeah but a lot of guys apply a bunch of voltage right outta the box ;) and shock them into bench-mode...after that it doesn't seem like they run as well on lower vcore. That's the only thing I've seen change on my 2600 after lots of voltage, it won't POST occasionally on BIOS defaults.
an old warrior joining the game - great!
without pll overvoltage option the chips seem to need lower vcore as I found out during my first testings (don't look at the time, that was before xmas :p: )
5 GHZ 32m @ 1.33V
I need to finally get out my gigabyte-fanboyism I had with DS3P and K8NXP-SLI back in the days - ordering a board as soon as I have some private time again I think.
Mr. Splave - yes gigabyte SB boards seem to be getting some good results.
My UD5 is still doing the multi boot on-off dance all the time though - I suppose oscillating between 1.1 and 1.66 cpuv ~30x in an hour doesn't help.
Should probably try to pick up a backup board. :shakes:
Funny thing is my degraded chip can do 1.39 5ghz.... Can't do 3D over 5.4... when it used to do @5.6... Very odd chip..
Chew if you wanna kill your 2500K just ship more than 1.5 VCCIO in it,it surely is enough. If it survives that, then i think you have a survivor, much better than that guy at Discovery Channel :D
Little update ....
Vqpi 1.14v Vdim 1.8v

anyone else have this problem...I can bench 32m all day 10x back to back to back but as soon as I try to wazza within the first or second cut and paste BSOD 000000x9c :X
2133 to 1866 didnt solve it so maybe its a subtiming is too tight.
^ did you try in via ocxspitweaker
yeah regular will pass, CDT fails within 5 seconds of starting pi tweaker
Put your subs on auto and try again. If it works set 1 at a time until you know what is causing it.
try some old school waza. its just a file copy.
Beat on this system one more time and sucked the last bit of effec out of this 2500K, I can only hope cache is playing a small role here or the fact that i'm using a full SP3 install with no services shut off.
lol i wish - seem got another cpu meant for 24/7 low volts but seems got a 52x multi wall right now :(
thanks Splave and SoF..
lol
still early days while i figure out the ins and outs of memory clocking on P67 platform
Tested a pair of super talent 2200c8 hypers don't like 1T at 2133mhz 8-8-8-24 only 2T for 32M pi. Still have lots of hypers to try and see how it goes :D
Kick some ass george, you always do
didn't heard of that but just a stupid thought: are you running high bclk? isn't bclk overclocking the entire system-components including sata ports? maybe they don't like it beeing pushed hard? tried using different sata ports (as this is what waaza stresses) or another theory: you are having the cougar point sata issues - tried the 6G ports?
sounds promising
This one's for you dino :p:
Gonna need more than a 5 gig chip to play with the top 10 boys in a "memory" benchmark
hahah that is SICK dude. If you had a 5.6 chip that would be 5K LOL j/k
i pwms you noob with my beer tweak lol

Here is my run on el-cheapo msi with the most ugly bios in the sandy-world :p: Most of the timings are maxed now and one step lower will crash 32m. Already needed some more vdimm for getting trfc at least a bit lower...1.72V or so instead of 1.65 I think.

PS: that gay backround is because it is mandatory in the contest - I hate it and remove it always right after the screenshot :p:
