Just picked up a 1055T and a Crosshair iv and have hit a wall at 258mhz bus speed :(

Very stable at these settings but cannot get the board to boot over about 260, just bluescreens on login. Have dropped the multi and it still does it. I doubt its the IV, maybe a duff cpu? All voltages are auto though ive played with upping the ones to do with cpu and nb and nothing changes :confused: llc is enabled

Any help be welcome

Why don't you try using the Turbo multipliers? Maybe 250*16

when i set it in bios or the clocking utility it doesnt change from multi 14 :confused:

One or two weak core? You have to test each core one by one, then you find which one (or two) weakest. Pull down multi for them.

quick question .. I can obviously push the CPU and other parts Much further

but for 24/7 use BOINCing and Gaming ... where's a good safe place to stop the OC ? can it handle 4.5ghz 24/7 ?? :shrug:

Got it 8 hour small FFT stable at 4.0Ghz/1.488v.
Did a 3dMark06 suicide run at 4.3/1.616v NB @ 2762. Almost passed it at 4.4 with the same volts.

My observation is I can have either 1600 ram+2400NB or 1333 ram+3000NB.
I thought initially the chip was somehow faulty or a ram incompatibility (Mushkin 996601). Not sure how to make a decision. I like games, and even then, the better choice would probably depend on the game itself.

also DedEmbryonicCe1, do your mainboard sensors not work correctly? i was thinking you might want to check the contact the heatsinks are making on the mobo since the temps seem kinda high

I also found that to be an issue. I can overclock my RAM to DDR1704 with the stock timings and voltage but only when my CPU&CPU-NB overclock is lighter. When I tried combining everything together I found that the same voltages were not stable anymore and I couldn't get my RAM to pass Memtest in Windows. That's why I'm still using the multipliers and not the HT reference clock.

I don't know if that one reading is accurate or not. The only part of the board I found to get particularly hot were some of the mosfets for the RAM slots so I put heatsinks on those. I have a 120mm fan blowing over the RAM slots and another over the mosfet heatsink. The mosfet heatsink was only "warm" to the touch during Prime95.

chew, any big differences you have noted between mobos regarding cpu clocks? like do any of them clock the same chip much better than the others, or less volts, etc??

What was ambient temp on those test's? How low ambient temp can be
considered as aircooling? Might put my pc in to the freezer.. not!:D

My pb sp1m with 25c ambients is 4,6GHz, but that's with 32bit vista, havent
had time to test this little thuban with xp yet..:shakes:

Got SF3D OC Inflection point LN2 pot last week so little more "extreme" testing soon!:up:

maybe hes using that big indoor AC unit he posted the other day:shrug:

The air coming out of my ac was 10c.........so itas possible with a bigger unit to get lower.
