Newegg must have OCZ binning - my ddr2 1150's can't hit 1200...
i was ready to pay 120$ for a set  but only 8500 plats could be found and for 105$
got me a 4 gig set of ddr3 1800mhz for 50$:D
n i got my 4 gig set runnin 5-5-5-15-55 1300mhz
:yepp: tight binin is lame to squeeze every $ from consumer
crucial coulda binned alot of d9 @pc2-9600:yepp:
i've had a ddr3 mobo since 2007 it was boxed for a long time i was averaging an rma every 5 weeks lol pos gigabut p35
but prices were just too insane to buy any lol
if a pos gigabyte p35 can do 1300 stable makes me wonder what a good board can do lol
but even @ 1300 can 5 it barely breaks 10k in everest
and 1300 cas 5 is better than 1600 cas 8
ddr3 has no big advantage on ddr2 as i see it unless you runnin tripple channel or 1800+
but buyin a set of blade is a waste of $ it might be as expendible as d9
i can use this set of 1800mhz when i go i5;)
are you serious  maybe if it was free i would not spend 1$ on another gigabut board
to me its still a gigabut i went throught rma hell in 2007 averaging 1 board every 5 weeks i finally boxed the board i woulda sold it but i didnt feel it was right for another person to own a gigabyte p35:rofl:
and yes i have tried the board its verry n00b freindly memory bandwidth suks bad
if my p35c were to die again i would not waste 15$ to rma it :yepp:
did you ever try a dfi? then you would know what a real board can do
So you had 5 motherboards in a row go bad on you and you didn't bother checking whether it was the wiring in the house or your power supply or maybe some other external factor? Five different mobos to all go bad in someones hands in a week isn't the motherboards makes fault b/c QC cant be that bad and they all died in your location implying something else was the culprit.
Anyways fanboy much and can your DFI do what my Gigabut can do?
i have a seperate line installed just for my computers;)
besides the boards i had 5 sets of ram die on em:rofl:
1 board died @ stock:rofl:
since i had stopped usin gigabut boards i havent had a component die for almost 2 years
btw i have 6 pcs running not just the 1;) i cant list all my parts or a mod would ask me to downsize it again
loosen up a boards settings and it can do anything lol but who wants a slow board:rofl:
I have actually found 4gb PC2-9600 Blade but, like you said, I'm not paying $154 for RAM I'll be using for less than a year.
My PC2-8000 Cellshock hits 1200 at 5-5-5-10-25 and, wait for it, tRD 8!
Actually tested my 1150 ram at 1150 5-5-5-18 1.9v - no boot!
Even with the lowest multiplier no go.
Did run 5-5-5-12 1000 1.87v - but a lot of older 2 x 2gb 1066 modules would do that too such as my patriot vipers.
OCZ RMA - very disappointing for my first set of OCZ ram (new too at that)!
Sold my 8500 LV Blades. Waiting for the Egg to get 9600s.
n7 the 8500s are available in canada
i wont be needin no more ddr2 i just ordered a rampage extreme
my house verry warm with over 40 gigs of ram
ddrr is only nice 1600+ or 1350 cas5
i did test my set they do 1350 cas 5 but will do better once the rampage extreme comes
@ 200can$ was time to move on
the money i saved not buyin the blades i put in the RE;)
shipping a set of ram in canada costs 7-10$ to the us its 12-30$;)
APOLOGIES TO OCZ!
I switched motherboards from my Foxconn Mars to my Asus P5K.
Didn't think it would make a difference as both are great p35 boards.
Wrong!
Would not do 6:5 1137.6 with 9.5 x 474 e8500 5-5-5-18 1.9v.
On P5K does 4:3 1173 with 10 x 440 e8600 5-5-5-12 1.9v stable 1 hr OCCT , currently 1.8v testing...
Don't know if it will hit 1200 but for my 4.4ghz e8600 p5k rig, 1173 5-5-5-12 is enuf...
Edit: Stable 1 hr 5-5-5-12 1.8v 1173...
