no problem, nice to see you posting already ;)

Yes, I actually plan on using the Alumina to glue the inductors to the board as well and also get 100% coverage on the Fusion plate -> motherboard. This will definitely be a 'one-way' mod.
From the AS web site:

Let's hope they know what they're talking about. ;) I have some AS Silver Epoxy as well that I can use for the plate -> block interface which has better bonding/conductivity properties. Really don't suspect any issues.
Here's a 'modeling' shot of the motherboard with all blocks to be installed.

Question is, does the loop config in my sig make sense for this or is there a more optimal/proven setup for what I'm trying to do?
Thanks!
Anybody seen this swiftech northbridge block ?
looks nice, but I prefer my mips/ek blocks ^^
I would like to see ViperJohn make a NB block that would take the place of the Fusion (stock block).
The Swifty block does appeal to me with respect to simplicity. A CPU, GPU and NB loop would be ideal.
Just got my board and I gotta say it just plane "FUN" so far. Defaulted to 7.5x400 on my windows install...lol
Need a lil mem help, could any1 recommend me a 2x2gb (or 4x2gb) kit for the RE?
These CSX 4GB Kit DDR3-2000 D9GTR are looking nice, max setting for x48: 1866MHz 8-8-8-15 1.90V due to manufacturer or are there better ones for the RE?
gabe showed a pic of that block a while ago in the GTZ thread. the problem is that it doesn't eliminate the stock cooling interface which seems to be the cause of most of the hot NB issues. it sure would be interesting to see how the Swiftech block compares to the stock Fusion block.
Yes I know 3oh6 but should be a lot better if you remove the stock cooling re-lap it and add some more paste and then add this block, clone38 has a nice setup but that it beyond extreme lol ,I mean Watercooling the SB?
Too many blocks for me its bad enough changing mobos and cpus with watercooling the NB let alone all the otherstuff ...
Hey guys, I was wondering, I'm building a rig with a Q9650CPU, and this motherboard, what would be the best RAM to go with? I'd like to get 4 Gigs without costing me my first born lol
G.Skill 4GB(2x2GB) PI PC12800 kits seem to work well.
http://newgskill.web-bi.net/bbs/view...desc=asc&no=29
these are the only one from G.Skill i have access to in my country:
G.Skill DDR3 Dual Channel 2048 MB, PC3-12800, 1600 MHz, 7, Non-ECC, Kit Of 2
these are different then the ones you are suggesting. Do you think these will work? or?

What about these Super Talent sticks http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820609237 these Corsair sticks http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145186 or these G.Skill sticks http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231176 or these Mushkin sticks http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820146777
Hi Nguaroth, those are the same specification as those shown in the link by Rockqc but they are without the PI heatspreaders which may help with O/C capability.
Death Angel - What FSB are you looking to run with your quad ?. I have the PI sticks and can game for hours at 1700 FSB at 7-7-7-18 C2 but they will not prime or pass HyperPI. Increasing the voltage and loosening the timings has not helped.
Next for me it is looking like Corsair XMS Dominator (TW3X4G1800C8DF) to get 450x9 running on a quad and with 4Gb.
Running 2x1Gb sticks seems to open up the options a lot more as to what is available but if you want 4Gb and are running at 1600-1650 then the G.Skills are fantastic value for money and suit this board well.
I have read good reports on the Super Talent, especially the Project X and also the Crucial Ballistix.
Oops, I meant to link the 2x2GB sticks of G.Skill RAM, does it matter if i get 4x1GB or 2x2GB sticks as far as O.C-Ability because it seems like 2x2GB sticks are cheaper, I really need 4GB, Also, what I'd like to do is run my Q9650 at 400FSB if possible so I could have a slight overclock and have a 1:1 divider ratio, if I understand that correctly...
think i'll give these 2x2gb ddr3-2000 csx diablo a chance
Hey guys,
Please do this test for me:
1. Enable RAID for ICH9R chipset in bios (dont worry even if you dont raid your hdd enable it just dont pree CTRL+I during bios to configure raid and your hdds will be fine as they are)
2. Enable Marvell IDE/E-SATA
3. Enable boor bios for Marvell IDE/E-SATA
Reboot, and then please ALL OF YOU email ASUS to fix this POS bios they have!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To get your settings back (and the ability to boot again) revert back to your original settings.
guys, whats ya preferred method of flashing this board
the supplied software or something else
Put the bios on a USB stick.
While the PC is turned OFF plug the USB stick in.
Turn ON PC.
Press ALT F12 during bios post to go to EZFlash. Use that to upgrade bios.
I never use the windows utility as that can have problems with flashing.
hi there...I have this memory and works great....except one small thing...
it works at 1600 (stock speed) at 7-7-718 (stock timings) BUT with 1.79,V !
(set by AUTO at bios) and not at 1.9 (stock voltage) ..when at 1.9V getting
errors at memtest...Except this (which i don't thing that bothers anyway)
memory works great even at 1N and i haven't yet tried tightening its timings....
Hope i am helping.....:)
