you can either do that, i don't if anyone has done it, and i think it's quite tricky ; or you take a wire make a circle with it and put it around the two pins

I advice you to read the whole thread as it has some good info hidden
Today i tried the pin mod. It seems to work because i can only select "user defined" cpu settings. I can run @ 240 fsb perfectly with cpu interface disabled so my ram is not holding me back.
Then i tried 230fsb with cpu interface enabled. My pc didn't boot.
Same for 225fsb. I can boot into windows with 223 fsb perfectly.
So after the mod nothing changed :/
Vdd is @ 1.7 Bios 1.6
Any tips? I'm not trying Bios 10d because ive got Sata..
Btw: Ive tried this with my 2400+ and 1800+.
Im getting an XT too. For free! :D
That is kind of high, but I would take one at that price :DQuote:

lol gouda.
yeah, some guy on the amdmb forums is hookin some of us guyz up.
I've been doing the L12 mod to all my chips for a while now & its always worked for me but this time i did both the L12 & 8 bit mod
to a 1700+ DLT3C to be used in a used NF7-S rev2 i picked up. to my surprise when i entered the bios all it showed for cpu was user defined & 3200+. sure enough it booted @ 11x200fsb & 1.5v. now its running nicely @ 2500mhz with 1.725v. on air. my pc2700 craps out @ 227fsb & the Geil doesnt seem to like anything over 230fsb, but i have some Mushkin level 2 pc3500 on the way. im going to see how high i can go with it before throwing my prommie & chiller at it.:D
wow, I find that hard to believe.. show me a screenie lol.
Im gonna send u my chip so u can do the mod.. :D
Sorry about the pic qualty. cpuid & cpuz just id it as an AMD Athlon XP but no string, 3DMark id's it as unknown. so this is all i can show you. i did the mod just like pcice described, on top with
conductive grease. i did it once in my epox but there was no change in the bios at all.
It is a realy easy mod, just read a few posts in here and you will be able to do it in like 2 minutes. If I wasn't so wrapped up in my intel system I would have done it like 2 months ago...still haven't done any mods to my amd system yet...Quote:

I think those pics are actually posted in this thread somewhere, and that page is already linked...but when you get this many pages it is nice to put it at the end and the beginign.
tomorrow I am gonna do all my nf7-s mods...vdim/vdd/L-12/12 bit/nb cooling/sb cooling/mosfet cooling.
Once my intel stuff gets here I will forget all about my amd setup, so if I don't do it now it will never get done.
.....OR JUST MAKE IT LOOK LIKE THIS.......

just sticking wires in the socket is very easy
ice, I thought you couldn't return the stuff you killed? That is incredible...I would love to have that kind of reassurance :D
No fear of any mod ever...that kind of piece of mind would make me take alot more risks, and get better results.
Alright folks i've finally edited the first post, if you want to take a look and tell me if i forgot something or said a dumb thing
As long as people take the 20 seconds to read it, it looks pretty good...but that seems to be a problem that everybody has every now and then...
.......nice work on the edit ........Quote:

10x BBThumper and gouda96, at least now they don't have the excuse that there is too many pages :)
I've added some links and added the fact that the mod is only for the latest nvidia chip (ie abit nf7 rev2)
