This board is really shaping up nicely. Depending on price, think im gonna give one a go. If i like it, my abit is being ditched! LOL!
The fact that it doesnt use heatpipes is a BIG plus for me, as im still stuggling with the PWM temps on my IN9, after w/cing the NB. Really wish it had seperate Coolers.
I added a fan to both the northbridge and southbridge stock coolers. With my system on 24/7 for the past couple of weeks the pwm temps are around 60'c. What are yours? I'm gonna jump on this board just like I did the 965 board, but I doubt it will replace my IN9.Quote:

Its obvious the Swiftech sinks ive got on the PWM's arent up to the task, but ive had no bright ideas of what to replace them with.
It looks like the DFI will solve this, as well as a few other niggles i have with the IN9 (although obviously im waiting for a few more results once its out in the wild)

i think one of the major factors for me on this board aswell is the lack of heat pipes. they drive me mental.
on a side note about the electrical noise / high pitched noise my psu does it aswell :/
I had that problem with one of my 8800GTX's. Really irritating it was. Changed my PSU, and it went. Im pretty sure it wasnt my old PSU, seeing as it had never made any kind of noise before, and only did it with that GTX in the rig. Strange.Quote:

Ive read quie a bit on various forums and people seem split on the heatpipe solution. I think Abits failing was not including optional fans for the more 'extreme' overclockers. I have an 80mm perched right above my NB and mem and the hottest ive seen my PWMs run was 85 degrees @ 4ghz. My problem now is unless i find beter cooling i dont think i will get any higher on my cpu.Quote:
