Hi folks,

I have been looking around the forums and at this thread for awhile now and I thought I would post. :)

I got this board two days ago from Microdirect for £139.59 :D, and I can run my GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400 800MHz Ultra Low Latency at 1:1, with stock everything.

Going to try and up the memory voltage to the recommended 2.1v, see if I can get anything good out'a these things tonight.

I have been really busy with work and overtime the past few days so I wont be testing till later on. :)

I'll be doing alot more testing over the weekend when I am back home, will be taking the rig back to my own house where all my stuff is. :)

got mine last night! so far i am running 350 1:1 with 3 gigs of ram. I had to flash to beta bios to get it to run 1:1. so far so good will try to get to 400 today.

Heck, I'd settle for knowing where to measure Vcore with a voltmeter.
I need to compare the AC characteristics of my DQ6 to my new aw9d MAX,
but they must both be set to the same Vcore for a valid comparison.
Since any software tool that merely reads the sensor is subject to error,
this measurement must be done using a voltmeter.

yeah i asked the same and no one wants to answer... :(
probably cant answer maybe as they been so keen on the MAX that the non MAX hasnt seen the day light for these fellas yet.

Also the cooling is different. Only the northbrige is connected to the heatpipe. This makes me curious though because if a fan is added to your northbridge then it will be cooled separately from the southbridge and they will not exchange heat across the same pipe. I feel this could improve clocking on this board since they are not exchanging heat across the same pipe, but one would have to think the Max board is designed to overclock better considering the capacitors and all.

All those sinks look rather large, with a nice 40x28mm delta on the northbridge, I am sure temps will be great.

Hopefully, in the near future, I can join in on the AW9D-Max discussions as mine should arrive later today. Not sure what I'll do with my OLD P5W DH (with only 1.65MCH:rolleyes: ) but I'll think of something.

This the max with air i can get (zalman 9500), i can boot to windows at 440, no more for now.

The P5W DH and the 965 DQ6 both had a feature (BIOS) that
when enabled, the CPU fan voltage is automatically controlled
according to CPU temp. That is, the voltage is low when the CPU is relatively
cool, and as CPU temp rises, so does the fan speed, and does so
on a continuim, not discretely as ABIT guru implies.
Does the aw9D MAX have such a control, and how does one set it.
Guru doesn't do this.
