I'm sure Intel wants to avoid channel conflict as much as possible and wants to synchronize all this as much as they can. Doing this might also minimize some of the price gouging by making it more competitive.
This is just a hunch.
I now have a tracking number on my E6400 from TigerDirect! Monday C2D system here I come!
The 27th was the date C2D was released to OEM builders/retailers to allow them time to build systems for the 7th Aug , the OEM builders have signed contracts not to release CPU's to retail customers. Their allowed to advertise systems but can't release before the 7th. OEM's who do release C2D before the 8th will face penalties.Quote:

This may be correct or incorrect but this is the word from OEM builders/retailers in Aus.
you guys made me order from tigerdirect
But I love it
Recieved my e6400 tracking number from Tiger. No tax, $304 out the door including overnight shipping, will have it tomorrow.
Just a place-holder for Kentsfield anyway, that's how I rationalized going with the 6400 instead of the 6600 I originally wanted, lol.
If I only knew what BLTs situation was exactly. I don't want to wait until the 7th, but I will wait until say...the 1st or 2nd.
EDIT: Two people with tracking numbers on the E6400...I'm tempted to hit checkout right now.
I doubt you will have it tommorrow. Consumers can't get retail till August 7th. So...I guess you'll get it August 8th.Quote:

Hopefully, we'll have ours around them as well. As I mentioned on our forum, I'll likely spring for overnight or 2 day shipping from my suppliers (once they finally have them) so that we'll have them quicker, and can thus re-ship to customers quicker. I know how excited everyone is!
looks like tigerdirect is going to get slapped big time by intel :slapass:
just ordered E6600 ClubIT, I can last another week....I hope

I've already got my X6800 from BLT and my E6300 from ZZF that will be here tomorrow so I didn't mind doing 2nd day from Tiger.
Hmmm, I wonder if the TD B&M in Raleigh has any?Quote:

If I waited for it to go through, I would be getting an OEM part the same time Retail parts would be available, only I'd be paying an extra 15% for the privilege. No thanks.
Guess I get to play the waiting game now.
Just got off the phone with TigerDirect and they said they would not have the shipment in till next week. So all you people thinking you'll have it before the release date announced by Intel are a little too assuring.
I got an order in for an E6300 last night at ZZF but i just grabbed an E6600 from ClubIT for $339 shipped as well. Hopefully my E6300 will ship tonight so i'll have something to play with till the E6600 gets here.
But people have allready recieved tracking numbers from TDQuote:

They said they didn't even get an initial shipment in yet. So I highly doubt they are actually shipped.Quote:

Now ne patient guys....WOOOSAH!!!
BTW just checked TD - they have the X6800 OEM for sale and shipping in 1 - 2 days. :) A few hours ago it was shipping in 7 - 12 days. LOL
No shipment of any of the chips or only certain ones? i.e. 6600 & 6700Quote:
