How am I acting Elitist when Kunaak already said DO NOT ASK ME FOR THE BIOS, and he's asking anyway----in MORE than one thread? (cough double post *cough*).
Tell me, please.
And Kunaak is a mod, too....
I'll I'm going to say is search google and you can find what you want. It has been posted by long time members in this very forum in OTHER forums (with similar site names as well :p: ). If you really can not find it then your not looking hard enough. Just because one person here who has it does not want to give it out does not mean you can not find it else where. You've all been warned though, if anything goes wrong don't be a hypocrite and start blaming the people who helped you find it in the first place.
Heres to hopefully no one destroying there motherboards...:toast:
PS: caligula, I wouldn't use that file. If I were looking for this BIOS I would make sure you look around and find it posted somewhere else by someone who is well known in this forum. Probably nothing wrong with the one you linked but for piece of mind I guess.
I gave it a shot, boots fine until I enter the bios save & exit, starts rebooting after video card post screen.Quote:

It is ALPHA. Not for user consumption at this time anyway and has killed at least two boards I know of and if it does you will expect DFI to warrant the board. It is an older bios in ALPHA and it FIXED NOTHING for my stepping 5 ES6600. All testing done with it in house where it should remain; has been done with Stepping 4 cpu and none of the later steppings. You have been warned is all I can say for sure. I am back on the 731 bios right now so that I can boot with some expected regularity.
RGone...

To be honest the board (at least mine) sucks for OCing at this point and really needs a new bios or a new revision, can only run up to 320 unless on the slowest 4:3 divider and even then it has a top stable fsb of 370 on the 4:3 divider.
Anyways I'll probably flash back to the 0731 and wait a another week or two before I decide if this board will be heading for auction block or not.
wow, a max of 320? I hope not all of em are that bad. Ill give my full report tomorrow evening after i get mine going.
wtf is that grey stuff in the ich7r??? looks like a big Plate of old hard AS5 or a Pad - but no cooler on it?

The person that sent me the alpha bios to test had sent me 814 instead of 816, that's why I was stuck without reboot. I've used 816 now and it's nigh on impossible to get it to boot out of bios after changes. I have 2 bios chips, 1 of them has 731 so I just use that instead. I can only guess that Glenboy managed to disrupt somehting on the board whilst removing his bios chip for replacment. RGone is right, it's definatley worth waiting for the official beta before trying anything out.

well, i put together my E6600 build today. The board came with 6/21 bios so obviously i flashed to 7/31. At the moment it is running Orthos at 3015 with 1.34 Vcore. According to Smart Guardian temps under full load are 42-43C for the CPU and 39C for the NB which is at 1.75v. At first my NB temps were at 57-59C idle, but a simple 90mm fan dropped it down to 36C idle and 39C load. This OC is just preliminary as this is Xtreme Systems, but ive only had the rig running for a total of 2 hours so im already very impressed.
The chips info is L624A819. Is week 24 known to be pretty good?
Not mutch to brag about if thats the max fsb. Almost as bad as my other asrock vsta $75 board. Had mine dfi laying in the box for a couple of days due to a lot of work and little spare time. Will try to test it tomorrow. If it clocks real bad(under 400fsb on my e6600) i`ll call it a monday sample and return it to the shop where i bought it. Been waiting on this preordered board since 25/6. It was expencive in Norway 255 U.S. Dollars. For a bad cloking board with allmost no io ports thats to bad. But here in Norway u can get a refound if u send in things ordered on the internet that doesn't meet your expectations before 14days has gone since it arrived and if it's in perfect shape :)Quote:

anyone else having the issue of after posting it gets hung on a bunch of Realtek stuff with your MAC adress etc? Its bugging the hell out of me and the only way i can get past it is to put in the OS CD and then boot.
I dont have my board yet but i have seen that sort of thing happen with boot from lan.Quote:

I)ickie
Today i've returned my DFI infinity board. Never got it stable even@stock, random lockups under install, and i had to update my bios just to get the cpu post speed showing up correct. What a sh**ty board, tried different hw and disabling everything except diskkontroller. Not what i expected from dfi.
Just has to wait for return of my money so i could bay myself that asus 965 board, or one of the new nvidia or ati baded ones. To that day, my el cheapo as(s)rok dual VSTA board has to do the trick. It's not fast but it'll work.
I just finished upping my ram speed to DDR2 950 and my chipset temps hit the roof. 64C even with a fan pointed at it! I just took off the stock goop and put some Arctic Silver 5 and chipset temps are now 48-49C under load. Just a suggestion...
Guess Ill notbe getting this mobo, Back to the old P5B for me I guess once I sell this dam DS3
Take a look here, that was the old bios new one is quite good:)Quote:
