lordy...i gotta figure out my memory divider on my A8n32-sli...

so far, clocking the CCBWE 0609 CPAW @ 2.25 (10x225) with a 1:1 mem divider.

I have all my equipment connected through a APC UPS Power Backup, with the internal battery os I had clean power. The APC has a three prong plug, so it was definitely grounded.

Anyway, life goes on. I just wanted to give a heads up on what has happened to me. I certainly hope it is a relatively isolated occurance, but have heard other people on other forums having issues as well.

Someone told me that "You can't call yourself a serious overclocker until you
have pushed things past their limits at least once." I guess now I qualify;)

2950-sorry for the typo :) used to be 2.58 but now she runs at 1.55
I am not that good in overclocking, so an experienced user might get even more .

I am runing the BH chips OCZ EL 3200Gold on a 2:3 divider.
Tried 7:10 , but the memtest showed errors in test 5 / as usually / even after I put 3,01 V in the mem. I know that this chips can take more, but
they get very hot despite the fan blowing directly on them.

Otherwise, I ve never had a CPU like this before:D
BTW the CCB1E 0609 FPAW looks promising as well

EDIT: dual prime stable SP 2005 6H , tried 3DM 06demo loop / good for testing the stability in games for 6 H -OK /

sweet. man.. I am getting excited to get my chip.. whew... came home for a few days to chill from the folks house drama.. wow... I might have a day or so to play with the chip before I have to head back.. mom's not doing well.. uugh!

wow sounds like the new steppings are pretty darn good, I'm glad I cancelled my order a few months ago for an Opty 170, looks like Opty 165 here I come!!!

Btw, what are the choice boards these days? Are they still the DFI NF4 Ultra's?? Expert? I'm going to need a new board I think, not sure if its my board or psu, but my voltages are not stable, they fluctuate while priming the chip. I don't trust it.

In case you don't want to use SLI (or maybe you want to use CF) I'll wait for the new RD580 from DFI, shouldn't be more than 1 month away.

Got my new opty today :D , strange stepping (ccbwe 0602 bpmw)
Tcase max 57c Thermal ofset -3
Testing now @ 2.7Ghz 1.475 think heat is stopping me here 52c with 2x sp2004 Seems stable but wont go much higher.
Changing my cnps9500 for Sunbeamtech Tunic Tower and ading more fans as soon as they arrive.
Will post screens with better cooling in a few days.

Careful, last I've seen monarch was shipping CCBWE 0607UPBW 165's, not sure how they do but CCB1E seems to be the choice mem controller

I just hope monarch's 170's are still the 0609

edit: anybody get a 170 from monarch recently? I ordered thursday and they still haven't shipped, I'm getting a little mad
