What batch is that from? I'd assume it's a 737...

Decided to give OC'ing this chip another go. Don't like sitting at 3.4GHz lol. (3.7/3.65 Wasn't stable).
I have some bios shots to upload later.
Here's my story.
1 week ago I noticed that after going above 3600MHz, SPI would start failing. Not BSOD'ing just crashing. Which I thought was odd, no other CPU that I have OC'ed too far has done that.
Been fiddling around in the bios now, My MCH/ICH Temps are fine. Stuck the MCH to 1.42v, cool to the touch.
Theres a few things I need to sort out. If I try to boot at...
400x9
LLC Enabled
1.45v
1.42v MCH
1.2V ICH
1.9V DIMM
All others 'Normal' *System Will NOT Boot* BIOS Resets.
Something isn't getting enough voltage at the 'Normal setting' Which is probably CPU or MCH.
I'll have to sort that out by the process of Elimination.
EDIT::mad: SPI Still crashes, 8 minutes in.. Prime Core 1 errors out in the first few seconds...

Heres my setting for 3.6GHz on my UD3P with BIOS F4.
I hope that helps, let me know how it goes if u try it.Code:MB Intelligent Tweaker(M.I.T.)

The max I got on air was 4.1GHz.
Next time I start my phase change PC (benching PC) i'll run SP 32M and I ran 3D Mark 03, but my score is bugged  and it was lower then 3.6GHz  I haven't run 06 yet, atm i'm just trying to get high GHz. Once i'v done that i'll turn my attention to doing some more benchmarking :D
Thanks fatguy1992!
I'm gonna give that a shot now. I'll report back, probably within the hour after Prime fails again
.. Why is KELL5 Banned. :shocked::down:
Alright I've just tried them exact settings. Boots OK. SPI Still stops after a few seconds. Worker 1.
I guess I have a bad core? Well one that doesn't like OC .
What RAM are you using, cause some RAM can't do 1066MHz on 2.0v.Code:MB Intelligent Tweaker(M.I.T.)

With my E8500 with air cooling I had a similar problem, one core would always fail no matter what I did. Then I tested it with my phase change and it was fine. I'm not saying you should go and get phase change tho.
BTW i don't know why KELL5 is banned, most have done something wrong
I was booting 1:2, My ram won't do 1066
I'd hazard a guess I'd be stable if my chip was that much cooler, But I ain't going phaze change just for this chip
I'm probably going to pick up a different chip / new ram some time soon.
I'll see how high I can boot FSB wise within the next day just to get a judgement of how capable my board is. Will have to watch the RAM though.
I got my Phase Change for my awesome Q6600, also i'v heard the new Q6600 can't even get above 3.0GHz.
My first OC attempt
Stable for now @ 3.4Ghz - Vcore 1,3250
gonna get some new memory sticks thou

Not a bad overclock there :)
What VTT and PLL volts are you using?
Also change the Tj. Max to 95C instead of 100C :yepp:
VTT and PLL are on auto, didn't touch anything else yet, just the :banana::banana::banana:ty ram freq. set to 907mhz and timings to 5-5-5-18..
cuz i'm rather new to overclocking, and don't want to burn anything on the first attempt :P
set tjmax to 95°c.. but saw different readings, some said tjmax is 90c, some 95c, some 100c... so what is tjmax for a q6600 g0? I know it should be 90°c regarding Intel, but that's just LOL
Your more likely to burn out your chip with auto setting. Set the PLL to 1.5v and the VTT to 1.3v.
Well I always use 95C TJ. Max, cause 90C is way to low for me.
Very nice work there Bootup05
Quite a bit of vcore tho.
Yeah, 1.66v @ BIOS. Ain't measured VCORE with DMM yet.
Only ran for 2 mins, vista took an age to boot, tense moment!
I just got myself a L744 replacing my lousy L804. The VID is 1.225V. Currently I doing 3.3Ghz(8*412) with 1.225V set in BIOS. Under load, the vcore is 1.216V under Everest reading. Temp are around 65C.
That L804 can do 3.2Ghz (8*400) with 1.30625V in BIOS and produce roughly the same temp. Im not sure why the temp for my L744 is high although the Vcore is low.
Btw, may I know what is the accurate TJ Max for Q6600 G0? Currently it's set at 100. If I set it to 90C, my idle and load temp will decrease by 10C and that means I can push it further.
Intel says the Tj. Max is 90C, but most people (such as myself) use 95C.
Lower VID chips tend to have higher temperatures... going from a 1.3125v to two 1.2125s... I know the difference firsthand.
That doesn't make sense?
Or am i missing something?
