It's worth looking into different types of wind turbines. The big propeller on a stick is only one sort, and probably not the best for a home user application. Vertical axis units and loop-bladed ones are worth a look for efficiency, size reduction and less operating noise, plus they're low enough to not get birds stuck to them like the tall ones.
No matter what i do, i can't seem to be able to check this thread beyond page146 (can see the buttons for 147, 148 but clicking them i am back on 146) :(

Dark Angel thanks for the information. If I can get some kind of ok then I would like to build a DIY project wind turbine. That is going to be a while down the road unfortunately, all my extra money is tied up in my WCG farm ATM.
