Actually SoLoR the drivers i'm currently using are 6585's which where the newest when i installed win7, so it's actually an update for me :D
Test them after work and report back ... good work SoLoR :)
here is alternative link.
Ok installed and working as expected ... good work :)
I've tested the eq and crystaliser and they both work as expected
Yes, no harm, just disable antivirus while running the .bat file
Nice!
I played a little with my 4.2Ghz setting (9*467MHz) and found a stable setting with memory at 1171MHz, PL 7 and Twister at Moderate. But it needs higher voltages for VTT (1,24v) and vNB 1.46v (1.47v Bios).
Have you any luck with your memory at 1200+ MHz? I had a run with 9x470Mhz, Memory at 1254Mhz, but it was not able to pass 512k in Prime95, no matter what i changed...
Managed to get 6600 soundmax drivers to work! It only took extra 2 days and solution was simple at the end... :> ill upload them tomorrow, unless i manage to get 6610 drivers working...
There is one problem i have found and that is that there is no Game mode avaliable, this mode enables the use of eax effects for gaming. The reason i say this is that ALchemy is supposed to be used in game mode to restore eax effects on directsound games in vista and win7.
Would someone be able to verify EAX is working at present?? If it isn't there may be a problemQuote:
For an X-Fi, you have to remember to turn your X-Fi to Game Mode before playing a game so that the game can apply it's own EAX, rather than whatever it is you've set it to in the (non-Game-Mode) control panel. (EAX4/5 is not enabled unless you're in Game Mode)
Once in game mode, change your game's audio settings to use EAX. Not all games have such an option. Here's a list of EAX HD (that usually means EAX 4 or 5) games:

If you look in the Creative audio CP avilable "mode" is only "Audio Settings" (in restore defaults you see on real x-fi modes avilable). Only creative console shows "entrataiment mode" and i assume that is bug anyway... i simply think X-Fi Software only offers one "mode" for HDAUDIO cards. How alchemy acts i dont know, i dont have any EAX game atm.
Unreal Tournament 2004 is a game that takes advantage of EAX sound. I'll give it a try later.
I'm currently checking my HDD's for bad clusters. It's the last thing I've got to do to find out if it was a wise decision to install Windows 7 Ultimate X64 and all my drivers and software at 4.05GHz and DDR 1199MHz with tRD 6 and tREF 16120T. :D
Are these better than 6590? Something different, fixed or added?
You're saying to clean the registry. Is a registry cleaner enough or do you have to use the registry patch?
Well i just made "custom.3" what is different is, i had slight poping with old driver (every once in a while), seems to be fine with this new one. Also in custom 3 i removed soundmax service that runs at boot and is useful only if you are using soundmax control panel (and we dont use that, since we have creative one), so you save like 2mb of memory and one less crappy service that is runing :)
clean up registry i just meant that you need to run that registry patch that i provided it removes like 4/6 keys (depends on windows). And ofc people that didnt install 6590 drivers before dont need to do that.
Hmm... Do I have to remove everything?
What I did was remove the 6590 driver. Reboot. Run the registry patch. Install the 6600 driver.
Like this I lost a few options in the Creative control panel.
khm... :) that registry patch suppose to fix that ;) not sure why it doesnt... maybe try v2, you will need to reinstall drivers after... if even this do not work revert back to old drivers and install 6600 on next fresh instalation. Thing is 6590 are bit messed up, this was also the reason i didnt give up with fixing new drivers when i got 6590 working...
oh ye and also you might try to manualy erase ctapo*.dll in system32/syswow64 and daisywrp.dll.
6590 installs some creative registry settings "manualy" when 6600 do everything as creative intended
What is V2?
Removing the 6600 driver and completely removing the Creative software did the trick. I also cleaned the registry with CCleaner and TuneUp Utilities before installing the driver and the software again. The licence was still good and everything seems to be working again.
After the installation of the driver and the software I cleaned it again and TuneUp Utilities finds a lot of stuff that can be removed from the registry.
Unreal Tournament 2004 uses OpenAl and the sound is very good.
Thanks a lot SoLoR.
